1 Extended Academic Orientation Program (EAOP) What is it? Extended AOP is a series of events held during the fall semester that will help support your academic success. These events will help you connect with other students, professors, advisors, and different campus resources THIS IS REQUIRED NO EXTENDED ORIENTATION=NO ENROLLMENT= NO CLASSES= NO LEGAL IMMIGRATION STATUS Requirements You must do the following to complete EAOP Attend 3 campus events, one of these events being the UUD Seminar Get the signature of one of your professors or teacher assistants Spartan Souvenir You must print your Spartan Souvenir off of d2l.msu.edu under the EAOP course listed You must take the Spartan Souvenir with you to every EAOP event At the Event Look for the Extended AOP check-in sign. There will be AOP employees there to check you in. Give them your Spartan ID Card. They will check you in and stamp your Spartan Souvenir If you do not check in, the event will not count for your Extended AOP requirement You must check in and stay. These events will help you make a successful transition to MSU

2 WE CANNOT STAMP YOUR SPARTAN SOUVENIR ONCE YOU LEAVE THE EVENT. Inside Your Spartan Souvenir Place for event information and stamp (Example is shown below) Place for Required Signature Events You MUST register for an event before attending You can sign up for events on noncredit.msu.edu You must attend a required University Undergraduate Division (UUD) Seminar. This event counts as one your three required events. After an event: o Make sure you received a stamp for the EAOP check in o You must write the name of the event and a small description of what you did at the event or what you learned at the event inside your Spartan Souvenir

3 Example: How to Register for an Event: Go to noncredit.msu.edu. If you have trouble registering, call the Distance Learning Service Help Desk at (517) Click on Create Account Click Option 2 Log in with your MSU Net ID and password Click Individual Registration, then click Search Search Extended Academic Orientation Program, then click the Extended Academic Orientation link that appears below Make sure you register for the required University Undergraduate Division (UUD) seminar as one of your Extended AOP events.

4 Every section that appears is a different event which includes a description of what will take place during the event Once you find the event you want to register for, click Add to Shopping Cart Click Check Out Click Register

5 Once you click Register you are signed up for the event, and you will receive a confirmation . Students who did not complete their Spartan Preview by 12:00 pm on Monday, August 31 st, 2015 MUST attend an extra campus event during Extended AOP, for a total of 4 events in order to receive credit for participating in the required Extended AOP DEADLINE FOR THE COMPLETED SPARTAN SOUVENIR FOR ALL STUDENTS IS NOVEMBER 25 TH, 2015 Turn in your Spartan Souvenir to Room 268 Hannah Administration Building when you have completed the Extended AOP requirements THIS IS REQUIRED If you do not turn in your completed Spartan Souvenir by the deadline, November 25 th, 2015, your classes for Spring 2016 will be DROPPED If you have any questions about Extended AOP, us at aop@msu.edu
