1 Passion Payday Workbook Lecture 1 - Exercise - What Are You Aiming For? Answer the following 3 questions to the best of your ability. Feel free to come back another day and edit your answers. Your awareness will evolve over the process of completing this course. 1. Describe what a perfect life would look like to you. (Where would you live? How would you spend your time most days? What would you do for occasional breaks from routine? What would your relationships be like? What effect would you be leaving in the world each day? What would you want written on your tombstone? Be as detailed as possible in describing this perfect life.) 2. What do you think has been holding you back and preventing you from creating this life? (List internal and/or external obstacles you believe have been undermining you) 2016 Awaken, LLC 1

2 3. What is your hope for this course? (Why are you taking it and what do you hope will be the result of having taken it?) Lecture 2 - Exercise - Investment vs. Expense Answer the following 2 questions to the best of your ability. Always feel free to come back another day and edit your answers, as you progress through the course. 1. What are your current expenses? (List everything you can think of that you spend time or money on that is not an investment.) 2. What are you current investments? (List everything you spend time or money on that pays you back later.) 2016 Awaken, LLC 2

3 Lecture 3 - Exercise - Healthy Relationships with Money These next questions will help you see where you are and clarify where you want to be. Remember as you answer these that you can always come back and change the answers later. 1. What would you most want to be known for contributing to the village? (What sort of contribution would you be most proud of having made? What do you most like doing that might benefit others?) 2. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being completely comfortable, how comfortable would you say you currently are with asking for money in exchange for doing things you love to do? (Only honest answers have any value.) 3. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being completely comfortable, how comfortable would you LIKE TO BE asking for money in exchange for doing things you love to do? 4. What is one thing you can do to get your score in #2 to be closer to your score in #3? 5. Are you willing to do that? If so, starting when? 2016 Awaken, LLC 3

4 Lecture 4 - Exercise - Hard way vs Easy way 1. What could you do to train yourself to stay on track with following the rolling boulder to success throughout each day? 2. What could you do at the start of each day to set yourself up for it to be easier to stay on track that day? (meditation, exercise, healthy breakfast, positive reading?) 3. What could you stop doing that you realize makes you feel bad about yourself? 2016 Awaken, LLC 4

5 Lecture 5 Exercise - Online Businesses 1. Provide an example of one business/website you know of in each of the following categories (Try to think of original examples, not just repeat ones provided in the lecture) Affiliate sales - Direct sales - Advertising - Online Marketplace sales - 2. Of the various types of online businesses, which one appeals to you most as something you might do, and why? 3. What might be one reason you would not want to do this sort of business? 4. How serious a concern is that? Is it enough to prevent you from choosing this type of business? 2016 Awaken, LLC 5

6 Lecture 6 Exercise - Brokering Services 1. What experience do you have with sales, and could you see yourself primarily focused on selling services that will be provided by others? 2. What industry do you have enough expertise in that you could effectively hire good staff to provide that service? 3. Would you enjoy talking to prospective clients about their needs for that service and how you propose your company fulfill those needs for them? Lecture 7 Exercise - Asset Appreciation 1. What sorts of assets do you know enough about to intelligently evaluate profit potential? 2. How much cash do you have available to invest, even if you might lose a good portion if you bet wrong? 2016 Awaken, LLC 6

7 Lecture 8 Exercise - Info Products 1. What is your favorite way of communicating your ideas? (Speaking, writing, drawing, etc.) 2. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your ability to organize your thoughts and explain things to others in a way they can understand? Lecture 9 Exercise - Leveraging 1. Have you ever used leveraging in your life, where you expanded the reach of money or other assets you already owned by borrowing from others, so that you could invest in a goal that would have otherwise been unavailable to you? If so, what were the results? If not, why not? Lecture 10 Exercise - Investing 1. Do some research on investment advisers who charge by the hour. Schedule a conversation with one to explore that they might do for you and how much capital you would need to get started. Enter your notes here Awaken, LLC 7

8 Lecture 11 Exercise - Identifying Your Passion 1. What was your favorite board games(s) as a child? 2. What were you naturally good at the first time you tried? 3. What did you love doing even if you had to work at developing skill to do it well? 4. What was the first non-fiction book that left an impression on you, and what role has that genre played in your life since? 5. What was the contextual metaphor of your favorite game? What was each player pretending they were trying to achieve? 6. What is the overlap between #2 and #3 (or favorites from each)? 7. Surveying your answers on this page, what connection can you see between your favorite non-fiction subject area, the focus of your favorite childhood games, and the things you both like doing and are naturally good at? 2016 Awaken, LLC 8

9 Lecture 12 Exercise - Translating Passion into a Revenue Path 1. What core need does what you want to offer as expertise fit into? 2. Which revenue path do you think you could best use to deliver your expertise to the people who are willing to pay for it? 3. What will be the business model for how you deliver your offering and receive payment for it? Lecture 13 Exercise - Launching Your Passion Plan 1. WHO: Describe your ideal customer in as much detail as possible. What kind of person would buy something like what you are selling to meet their core needs? Awaken, LLC 9

10 2. WHY: What is the message you are going to convey to your ideal customers that will make him/her quickly see why they want what you are offering? How will you phrase the problem you are solving or benefit you are providing? 3. WHERE: What websites, blogs, social media sites or other locations are your ideal customers regularly browsing? 4. How might you best present your marketing message to them at those locations? (Provide as much detail as you can think of) 5. What will you do to first announce your new offering to the world? 11 Lecture 14 Exercise - Optimizing Post-Launch 1. How will you track your business s progress and see what is going right and what is going wrong, and why? Lecture 15 Exercise - Leveraging Your First Passion Payday 1. What products or services will you add to compliment your first one and build out your business offerings? 2. Do you need business systems for what you will be doing? If so, which systems? If not, why not? 3. How much do you need to make each month (after taxes) to be truly happy and content? 2016 Awaken, LLC 11

You have completed the Passion Payday Workbook You now have a complete blueprint for the creation of a business that will not only reward you financially, but holistically as well. Keep this workbook someplace you won t lose track of it, and refer back to it regularly enough so that you don t lose sight of your primary goals in life, even as the opportunities available to you grow and change. Keep updating new versions, so that you can see how you are changing, but don t over-write what is in this first version. Wealth can change you.
