1 Theme Intended Learning Outcomes Other Links Autumn Term New Beginnings (1) Year 4 Harvest I know I belong and know something about everyone in my class I can have a positive self awareness of myself and tell you one special thing about myself I can understand my feelings and know how it feels to be happy, sad, scared or excited. I can understand the feelings the feelings of others and recognise other people are experiencing these emotions I can manage my feelings and find strategies to recognise and learn how to calm my feelings down when necessary I can develop social skills and accept and give a compliment I can start to learn about making choices and learn some new ways to solve a problem I can understanding rights and responsibilities within school I know I belong, I know that I am valued at school and I will have talked to everyone in my class. how it feels to do something new and why I can manage my feelings and have some strategies to cope with uncomfortable feelings. recognise how they feel when they are in unfamiliar situations I can develop social skills and work well in a group I can start to learn about making choices I can understanding rights and responsibilities within school and the wider society Getting On (1) Year 4 I can learn about friendship and all aspects involved with friendship. 2 Say no to Bullying (2) I can learn about working together and how to take on a role in a group and contribute to the overall outcome I can learn ways of managing my feelings anger, I know what my triggers are and how our bodies change when we start to get angry. I will learn some ways to calm down when I feel angry I can learn about resolving conflict in a peaceful manner I know that all my friendships are different and I can accept people s friendship and try not to demand more than they are able or wish to give. I can see something from someone else s perspective I can work together and talk about some of the things that a good leader should do. I can work in a group and tell people if I agree or disagree with them and why I can manage my feelings of anger. I will learn what my triggers are and how to deal with my anger I can resolve conflict and think of things that are likely to make situation better Year 4 I can tell you what bullying is I know what it means to be a witness to bullying I know that witnesses can make the situation better or worse by what they do I know how it might feel to be a witness to and a target of bullying I can tell you why witnesses sometimes join in with bullying or don t tell I can tell you some ways of helping to make someone who is bullies feel better I know that sometimes bullying is hard to spot and I know what to do if I think it is going on but I am not sure I can problem solve a bullying situation with others I can understand all types of bullying are wrong, regardless of people s lifestyle choices. I know that all individuals are unique and are made in God s image

3 I understand how rumour-spreading and name calling can be bullying behaviours I can explain the difference between direct and indirect types of bullying I can explain some of the ways in which one person (or a group of people) can have power over another I know some of the reasons why people use bullying behaviours I know some ways to encourage children who use bullying behaviours I know some ways to encourage children who use bullying behaviours to make other choices I can tell you a range of strategies which I have for managing my feelings in bullying situations, and for problem solving when I am part of one Spring Term Going for Goals Year 4 I know myself and tell you about myself a learner I can set realistic goals and foresee obstacles and plan to overcome them I can plan to reach a goal and set a success criteria so I know whether I have reached my goal I can demonstrate persistence and recognise when I find learning difficult and persevere when needed I can make choices and recognise advantages/disadvantages of the solutions or goals I set myself I can evaluate and review what I have learnt and take responsibility for my actions when learning outcomes are negative I know myself and the skills and attributes of an effective learner and I can try and develop these skills I can set myself a realistic goal or challenge I can plan to reach a goal and make a long term personal or learning plan I can demonstrate persistence and know if at first I don t succeed it is worth trying again
