Compare the length, weight and volume of two or more objects using direct comparison or a non-standard unit. Use direct comparison to compare the length, width, weight, or volume of two or more objects Compare 5 pencils of different lengths. Sequence them by length from the longest to the shortest. Use non-standard units to measure and compare two or more objects by length, width, weight, or volume Measure your math book with snap cubes. How many cubes equal the length of your book? How many cubes equal the width? Which is longer? Measure your desk with the length of a ballpoint pen. How many ballpoint pens would be roughly equal to the length of your desk? And the width of your desk? Which is longer? ( FW) Use standard units to measure and compare two or more objects by length or width Mark the object that is about 8 cm long. 14

2 2. Tell time to the nearest half hour and compare time related to events. Tell time to the nearest half hour Circle the clock that shows 4:30. Write the time that each clock shows. Identify which attributes were used for classification of objects Explain how you sorted the objects. 3. Describe and arrange objects in space in terms of proximity, position, and direction (e.g., near, far, below, above, up, down, behind, in front of, next to, left/right). Arrange objects in space in terms of proximity, position, and direction Here are pictures of a ball, a girl, a horse, and a cat on a table. Arrange them according to these directions: 1. Put the picture of the ball above the picture of the horse. 2. Put the picture of the girl on top of the picture of the horse. 3. Put the picture of the cat under the picture of the horse. ( FW) 18
