4 1.3 Printing with Varying Line Weights Wrking with Line Weights Best t use three r fur line weights Line weights in the printer dialgue bx nly Select a printer Select acad.ctb Edit line weights based n clr 1.4 Zm Scale Cmmands 1 = ¼ 1/48xp 1 = 1/8 1/96xp1) 1 = 1/16 1/192xp 1.5 Printing Yu shuld draw a few shapes, change the line weights and print, this assures that the bjects will print crrectly befre creating the entire dcument. If yu are printing n a laser printer, make sure all the lines are clred in white. Other clrs will print in shades f gray and will be hard t see. Refer t Francis Ching & Architecture Graphic Standards if yu have questins abut which lineweight t use. Bth bks can be fund in the Rtch library. 1.6 Clring a Drawing in Phtshp Drawings can be clred in autcad using hatching tls, hwever it a bit difficult t teach in a week. Phtshp is better fr adding clr t a drawing, by printing a file as a pdf drawing. 5 2.0 EZCAM 2.1 Signup Sheet The nly cpy f EZ CAM is n the machine with the ruter, yu will need ½ hur min. setup and 1 hur t cut - 2 Hur signup 2.2 Material Yu shuld use 1 24 x 24 ½ bard. 2.3 File Frmat EZ CAM will nly take AutCAD 2004 Drawings (N 2008), 2.4 AutCAD Prepare three separate Files 1. Drill (separate file) Drilling remves tight crners fr mating pieces. The drill bit wrks n a series f rtatins, therefre treat angular crners as a radius, therefre leaves unnecessary gemetry in tight crners. 2. Pcket (separate file) Intersectin sckets within the primary gemetry that need t be remved befre the entire piece is milled ut f the stck. Since pckets are custmarily smaller than the entire piece, the stck may shift is this step is left fr last. 3. Mill (separate file) The final step which remves the main cmpnent frm the stck. This step ends the cutting f the piece and will be ready t be remved frm the stck.
