Lyons Juniors in Computer Art and 9th grade art majors should purchase the following items: sketchbooks (there is daily sketchbook homework, so you will go through 4-6 sketchbooks during the year. You will only need one to start the year, but if you can get them on sale get them now) 1 pack of fine point and one pack of ultra fine sharpies (12 packs) a USB Flash Drive, minimum 8GB Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts Dance Department Required Supply List ~ ~ 1 short sleeve black leotard, 1 long sleeve black leotard 1 black leotard of your choice 2 pairs of pink tights, 2 pairs of black tights, 1 pair of suntan tights (convertible) Traditional ballet shoes (PINK) Flesh colored body stocking Pens and pencils (bring a writing utensil to class every day.) 1 one inch binder for ballet class & one for modern class 1 pack of filler paper, 2 folders 8 GB Jump Drive (for grades 7-12) Pointe shoes (for grades 9-12) Highlighters It is very helpful for the dancers to have their own dance bag to carry their belongings in. Always remember to keep your work from the previous year, we will reference the material often. 2 packs of 3x5 cards A combination lock for your dance locker. Please label all belongings with permanent marker. Please be reminded that, when purchasing your supplies: Do not purchase house slippers that look like traditional ballet slippers. Although they are cute and less expensive they do not serve the intended purpose. Please do not purchase leotards with skirts attached or any type of jewelry or designs. The purpose of the body stocking is to replace your undergarments. A body stocking is typically worn underneath your leotard and tights. It is also very beneficial under costuming. It provides a clean line and eliminates your undergarments. Please purchase a flesh colored body stocking. Just a reminder, attire is part of your grade and a deduction will be made if the proper attire is not worn, worn incorrectly or adhered to for every class, rehearsal or performance.

2 What not to buy Please do not buy leotards with attached skirts, jewelry or designs, Pointe shoes unless worn in the previous year s class, warm-up clothing or extra accessories unless it is requested in writing from one of our faculty members. 12 th Grade Dance History 1 two inch binder or 2 one inch binders Pens and pencils, 2 packs of 3X5 index cards 3 packs of college ruled loose leaf paper Highlighters Dancer s Survival Kit We also require that each student should purchase the following items for your Dancer s Survival Kit. The items below should be kept in a small bag or container in case of emergency during class or a show. The dance department has specific requirements as to how hair, make-up, undergarments, nail polish and the overall presentation of the dancer should look during class/performances. All of which is a part of the dancers grade.
