1 MAYFLOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL 2015 SEMESTRAL ASSESSMENT 2 Level: Sec 2 NT Subject Paper Duration Format Topics Comments Art In progress, until end Term 3/ early term 4 Elements of Art Principles of Design Colouring/shading Techniques Project: Abstract Art Harmony & Emphasis Abstract artwork Students will create an abstract A4 drawing in sketchbook combining 2-3 of their previously modified star anise drawings which they did in the earlier weeks of Term 3. The star anise drawings were modified using SCAMPER. The final artwork has to demonstrate the Principles of Design, Harmony & Emphasis. NT students will be using dry mediums such as pencils, colour pencils &/or markers. (20 marks) Final Artwork based on the theme of Celebrations! Students will have to create a mind-map on a person/community/habit/pet..etc. which they want to celebrate. They cannot choose an existing celebration locally or internationally. The mind-map will list 10 things relating to that subject matter they want to celebrate. After which, they will select the best 5 options from the mind-map and research online for images to draw to represent those 5 words. The 5 drawings will later be modified using SCAMPER once again, and then combined into a final A4 Markers/Colour Pencils/Pencils Sketchbooks

2 size abstract artwork, demonstrating at least one of the 4 Principles of Design which they have learnt in Term 3: Balance, Contrast, Harmony &/or Emphasis. Finally, they would need to write an artist statement of 50 words, explaining their choice of celebration and their options they chose from the mind-map.
