Time has moved on and now at twenty two, Jessica, still hasn't reached the dizzy heights of stardom, that is until she dresses as the Disney's Elsa, for a spoilt brat's birthday party.

I really enjoyed the story and felt as if Jessica was a friend of mine, it is that well written. Looking forward to the next book from Abbey.

Angie Rhodes From being a teenager and having a starring part in the school play, Jessica has always wanted to be a star, she HAS to be a star, it can t be that hard, can it? Time has moved on and now at twenty two, Jessica, still hasn't reached the dizzy heights of stardom, that is until she dresses as the Disney's Elsa, for a spoilt brat's birthday party. She falls into the hands of Jack, the spoilt brats uncle, and Jack is her ticket to fame and all that goes with it. Is being a star all that it cracks up to be? Jess is about to find out. I really enjoyed the story and felt as if Jessica was a friend of mine, it is that well written. Looking forward to the next book from Abbey. Diane Hinchley Jess wants to be a superstar and puts everything into trying to achieve her ambition. The book takes you through and along her journey, as if you were with her every step of the way. Abbey Clancy brings all the characters fully to life and tells the story brilliantly. I didn t want to put the novel down and read it from cover to cover in three evenings. A wonderful first novel. Can't wait for Abbey's second novel.

2 Sue Burton Good debut novel - could turn into a series of books with the main characters. Good read and had me laughing out loud in certain books. Thoroughly recommendable book and very impressed for a first novel. Celia Cohen A very satisfying read. You won't be able to put it down once you've started. I really enjoyed this book. It shows the world of show business is not all that you imagine it to be. I found myself cheering Jess on and hoping that the world she found herself in would not spoil her, that she wouldn't succumb to all the pressures and temptations that presented themselves. Abbey Clancy has proved that not only is she beautiful but she can write too. I look forward to her next book. Cathy Small A light hearted story about the stormy road to fame. Is it all what it really adds up to be? The story is aimed at the young adult in my opinion but it is a nice story about a young girl Jess and her rise to fame as an artist. It was all she ever wanted but you see the industry start to take over her life where she loses her family, her friends and her true self. However she realises where it has gone wrong and she finds herself alone at Christmas and so she takes ownership of her life and starts to pick up the pieces. It is quite a predictable story but an enjoyable read. Pauline Braisher This book's alternative title could be "Be Careful What you Wish For". It's the story of Jess and her dream of finding fame and fortune, but does it turn into a nightmare instead? I had expected this to be a bit lightweight and aimed at younger readers. However it's very well-written, with a believable storyline and well-drawn characters. It's easy to empathise (or not) with the characters and as I was drawn into the story, I really cared what happened to Jess and was, in

3 turn, angry or happy on her behalf. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely recommend it - it's a really good holiday read. Tracey Thomas I love this time of year when the fabulous chick lit, romance and summer bonk busters come out to enjoy on the beach or garden along with the lovely weather (crosses fingers in anticipation). Does this book fall in this category yes and no definitely not a bonk buster slightly disappointed in that everything is behind closed doors. Romance yes, but still could have done with more. Some great characters the good, the bad and the ugly. Great to see characters get their comeuppance. Easy flow of writing with characters you will love and hate. With some laugh out loud moments. A likeable debut, if Abbey Clancy continues to write I'm sure she ll improve like a fine wine. It is everything you look for in a cute romantic story. It was lovely to get lost in that world for a bit. It was just wonderful. Follow Humaira on Twitter: Nicola Edwards Really enjoyable - an ideal holiday read! As this was Abbey Clancy s debut novel, I was very intrigued to see what she had to offer. Well, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. It follows the story of Jessy Malone from Liverpool who is keen to make it as a star. The book opens up with a very funny scene with Jessy dressed up as Elsa

4 trying hard to please her young audience, while slowly sinking in to the mud. This makes for a great opening and really caught my attention straightaway. I really liked Jessy (or Jessika as she comes known) as a character. She is very family orientated, but hard working and determined to succeed. Her struggle to balance both family life and her increasing career pressures is written really well, giving her more depth as a character. Although this book is very much of a chick-lit genre; to me it has more substance than other books of this genre I have read. I felt like the characters were developed well, and although the storyline was quite predictable, it was an enjoyable read. If you are looking for a light-hearted, easy holiday read then this is for you. Nicola Kingswell Heart-warming rags to riches story of Jess the singing superstar. Jessica Monroe dreams of being a pop star while singing 'Let it Go' dressed as a Disney princess at kids birthday parties. At one such fateful event, she meets Jake who offers her the chance of a lifetime to join Starmaker records. Jess leaves Liverpool and the comfort of her loving family to move to a bedsit in London and take up Jake's job offer. Initially, Jess's dreams don't go to plan as she is the office dogsbody, but when the superstar Vogue is indisposed at a high profile show, Jess steps in and blows the audience away. This stroke of luck propels Jess into superstardom, but is it really what she wants? I really enjoyed this story. Sure, there were plenty of clichés, but it was very refreshing in the way it was told. I could hear Abbey's voice in my head, and it was as though she was telling me Jess's story over a nice big cup of tea. This would be a lovely holiday read and I look forward to more from Abbey. Edel Waugh When Jess is saved by a handsome man when she takes a tumble she soon finds out he has big dreams for her. Moving from her home town of Liverpool to the bright lights of London Jess is thrown into the entertainment industry in the most unlikely way. At first things are not quite as she expected but then one act of kindness leads her to the most unexpected places. This was a lovely read and Jess is a very likeable character, you really want her to do well. There is many laugh out loud moments in the book that had me

5 giggling in public. If you like books about starting new things and life changes as well as friendship and your roots then this is the book for you. Wendy Stubbs Remember My Name, yes I will Jessika, but for all the wrong reasons. I found this book predictable, lacking a plausible storyline and certainly not one I would have chosen to read. A school musical leads Jess to believe she will be a superstar one day. However, working as a children's party entertainer at the age of 22, was not quite what she had in mind. From party princess to superstar, far from overnight but unbelievably so. Jess is a Liverpool lass, proud of her background and her family. She gets 'spotted' at the birthday party of the precocious niece of a handsome, rather unbelievable Record Label owner. She moves to London and so the story evolves. I did not feel there was any great substance to the storyline and found it very school girlish. Having persevered to the end of the book, I would say that it would perhaps appeal to a younger, star struck audience. Carrie Jones A light-hearted romp, perfect for hot days by the pool. This story is a light hearted romp through a world that, I have no doubt, Abbey Clancy herself is well acquainted with. The story is straight forward with few twists or surprises, but I liked the main character, Jessy, and her great Scouse sense of humour. She is sensitively portrayed in her love for her family, and many of the phrases she comes out with when talking about them made me laugh out loud. It is effectively a rags to riches story, and the end felt rather abrupt when tying up the loose ends. That said, it has been published at the perfect time for picking up to read by a pool & I think teenagers in particular would really enjoy it. Nicola Underwood A light hearted and funny book which is easy to read and enjoyable.

6 This book is about a 22 year old girl who dreams of being a famous singer. It starts at age 17, with Jessy playing the lead role in the school play then cuts to her at age 22 playing a Disney Princess at children's parties. At one of these parties she meets Jack who works at a record label. Jess relocates to London to start a job with Jack's record label and tries to make her way into fame and fortune. All of this happens during the first half of the book, the second half is more dedicated to how Jess copes with the things that are thrown at her during her rise to stardom. The characters are relatable but pretty predictable. The writing is good and I read the book in less than a day, so it's a nice, easy read. It can be quite funny and is a bit sad too. Overall a good read.
