2 Eli s Restaurant Group Co-Sponsored By Maltose Express 2016 Home Brew Competition Rules & Regulations Rules: 1. Registration Packet must be completed (pdf online at or Maltoseexpress.net) 2. Contest is open to any style home brewed beer. 3. Every bottle must be at least 12 ounces in volume, brown glass, and free of ink, paint or paper labeling other than competition entry labels. Obliterate any lettering or graphics on the cap with a permanent black marker. Corked bottles meeting the above restrictions are acceptable; however, you must crimp a crown cap over the cork. Bottles with a stopper and wire cage are acceptable. Bottles with embossed logos are acceptable. Bottles not meeting these requirements will be disqualified. 4. All entries must be dropped off by Saturday July 19th by 5:00pm. All entries must be in by this time to be considered and judged for the preliminary round. All entries must be labeled with a provided bottle label. 5. Registration fee $5.00 must be given at drop off. 6. Participation will be limited. Be sure to drop off all materials by the given deadlines. 7. Final round will be held at Eli s on Whitney on Wednesday Aug 23rd, Grand Prize winner will have their recipe brewed and featured on Tap at all Eli s Locations If you have any questions please Elisbeergirl@gmail.com

3 RULES & REGULATIONS How to Enter This Competition How do I enter? Log on to or Print and fill out the entry form or pick up a packet at any of our Eli's Locatioins: Eli's On Whitney 2392 Whitney Ave Hamden, Eli's Brick Oven Pizza 2402 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Eli's on The Hill 624 W. Main St. Branford, Eli s Orange 285 Boston Post Road. Fold and rubber band the entry form around one sample bottle and rubber band a bottle identification form to each of the other bottles. Your entry will be disqualified if you use glue or tape to secure the forms to the bottles. Pack your bottles carefully. Drop off your entries to any Eli's locations or Malltose Express. All entries must be dropped off no later than July 19th by 5:00pm. Any entries after this time will not be accepted. How many bottles do I need? Must submit 2 bottles of beer (12, 16, or 22 oz) that have no labels with unmarked or blacked out caps What is the entry fee? $5.00 When is the entry deadline? July 19th, by 5:00 p.m **Finals will be on Aug 23 rd 2016 Are there entry limitations? YOU MAY NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE ENTRY. An entrant may not be a Co-Brewer if they have already submitted entries as the main brewer. Homebrew means home. Your homebrew must not be brewed at a place that brews beverages for commercial purposes, whether for commercial research, production or any other purpose, including brewpubs and other brew-onpremise establishments or is brewed for commercial sale. You must give the name of any and all individuals who helped in the brewing process under Co-brewer on your entry form. Awards and Prizes 1st prize: The winning brewer will brew his/her beer with Tess & Mark at Maltose's new brewery Veracious Brewing and will be featured on tap at all Eli's locations with a tap launch party! 2nd prize: $250 Gift Certificate to Maltose Express 3rd prize: $100 Gift Card Eli s Honorable mentions will receive $25 gift cards to Eli s & Maltose! Judging All entries must be submitted by July 19th by 5:00pm. Final judging event will take place on August 23 rd from 6:30-8:30 pm. The contest will be judged by BJCP guidelines.
