1 Cross-Connection Control Specialists Public List July 12, 2006 Welcome to the Public List of Cross-Connection Control Specialists (CCS) for Washington State. CCSs on the Public List are available to help smaller public water systems (PWSs) comply with state drinking water cross-connection control (CCC) requirements. State drinking water regulations require all PWSs in Washington to develop and implement CCC programs. This CCS list has been developed by the Western Washington Cross Connection Prevention Professionals Group ("The Group). CCSs are grouped into regions consistent with the Department of Health (DOH) regions: Eastern Region: Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanagon, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla, Whitman, and Yakima counties. Northwest Region: Island, King, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties. Southwest Region: Clallam, Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Skamania, Thurston, and Wahkiakum counties. The list provides each CCS s name, certification number, city of residence, phone number, and the services provided. The service codes are as follows: 1. Develop/Write/Update written CCC program plans. 2. Implement (carry out) CCC programs. 3. Perform CCC hazard evaluations and surveys. 4. Inspect air gaps and backflow preventers for DOH approval and proper installation. Note: Within counties, CCSs are listed in alphabetical order (not by preference). CCS listing does not constitute an endorsement by The Group, Spakane Regional Cross-Connection Chapter (SRC4) or DOH, nor does listing reflect the quality of a CCS s services. Prior to contracting with a CCS, PWSs should verify that the CCS has the appropriate experience to provide the services(s) needed. Also, if a PWS contracts with a CCS to develop a written CCC program plan, we recommend that final payment be made only after DOH has reviewed and accepted the program plan.
