2 Dear Cubmaster & Packs, Welcome to this year s Klondike Guidebook! This year s Cub Scout Klondike format has been changed to bring a new and fresh feel to the Cub Scout Klondike experience that will offer fun and excitement while also allowing the scouts to work together as a team! Event is for all Lion Cubs, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos! It is recommended that a Sled Patrol be between 4-8 scouts if possible. Station List: Fire Building Basic First Aid Map & Compass Animal Hunt Mystery Station #1 Wilderness Awareness Mystery Station #2 Tent Setup Sled Requirements (sleds will be checked during the registration process for the required items): Sled can be a saucer, toboggan, self-built plastic sled (No sleds with metal rails permitted). Scouts should have some method to push/pull sled through the course. Scouts will need to have required items in a Backpack or bag. Required Items: Schedule: 1 First Aid Kit 1 Bottle of water per person 1 Blanket 1 Extra pair of socks per person 8:30 am Registration/Sled Inspection 9:00 am 12:00 pm - Events 12:00-1:00 pm Food & Fellowship Everyone must have a knit/warm hat All participants must be dressed appropriately for the weather gloves, hats, and layers. Appropriate footwear is critical. We strongly suggest everyone bring along extra gloves & socks. Unit leaders are responsible for the safety of their Scouts and must enforce these rules. Everyone registered will receive a hot dog & hot chocolate at the end of the event. See enclosed registration form for price information. Don t be afraid to ask questions prior to the event. Having your Patrols prepared will help make this event fun for all. 4 KLONDIKE 2016 EVENT CSP CACOOSING DISTRICT ALL PROCEEDS FROM SALES OF THE KLONDIKE COUNCIL SHOULDER PATCH WILL GO TO OFFSET COSTS OF THE EVENT AND BENEFIT OUR SCOUT CAMP. Orders are due Monday, December 8th. Order sheet should be returned to the Service Center as one order form per unit. Unit leadership will be able to pick-up their order at the Klondike event. CSPs will not be sold at the event. Scouters not affiliated with a unit may use a form to order and return to the Service Center. Each Scouter will need to identify which Klondike event for pick-up.
