Designs can be altered to meet your individual needs. Features from one design can often be incorporated in another. Materials and Brief Description Italian marble from the Appenine mountains of Carrara, North West Italy, is the classical material for memorialisation. It can be supplied either in White or Dove Grey. High quality granites from all parts of the globe. These are extremely hardwearing and will accept a high polish. Because of the large diversity of colours on offer, not all can be stocked. 3 Marble Headstones Marble is a softer stone than granite and is therefore ideal for sculpture and carving. It should be noted that marble is porous and will weather over time causing the white appearance to age. This is a natural process which can be slowed down by regular cleaning. Marble Headstones Marble Headstones and Base only designs NS02 Marble. A hand carved angel sitting over a hand sculptured shaped book. The base has a hole in each corner for a flower container. NS01 Marble. Ogee shaped headstone with a hand carved rose in the top centre. The shaped ogee base has a centre hole for a flower container. NS03 Marble. Bible shaped cord and tassel headstone sitting on two bases. The bottom base has a centre hole for a flower container. NS04 Marble. An ogee top headstone with a dog rose carved in each corner. This is sitting on a shaped base with a centre hole for a flower container. All our marble headstones are made from fine Italian white marble. The white and light-grey colours of marble help create gravestones that look peaceful & serene. Its long-lasting but relatively soft quality allows it to be delicately carved by hand. NS05 Marble. A clipped corner headstone with incised carved ivy leaves on the top left corner. This sits on a base with a vase to the right. NS06 Dove Grey. A shaped headstone. The double rebates and the hand carved wild rose panel, together create an elegant memorial. 4 5

7 Marble Traditional Memorials Our hand-carved churchyard gravestones have been specifically designed for churchyards and will blend seamlessly with existing standard or kerbed memorials. Our churchyard gravestone designs are modest and elegant. Kerbed memorials cover the entire grave. The interior of the memorial can be in-filled with top-soil or chippings. All materials used are of the highest quality but being a natural material each one is unique and will differ slightly in colour and shade. 16 Renovations Memorial Guarantee Over time the traditional porous materials used for memorials can be effected by the weather. The once beautiful stone can become stained and dirty, the inscription worn and illegible. In our hands we can restore this to its former glory. We guarantee that all memorials supplied will be of good workmanship and sound materials. New Southgate Cemetery and Crematorium Ltd guarantees subject to the conditions stated below, that should any memorial supplied by the said firm prove to be faulty with regards to material within 50 years of the memorial being fixed in the cemetery, the memorial will be made good or, if this is not possible, replace without any expense to the purchaser. Conditions 1. As natural materials vary from time to time in colour and texture this Guarantee relates only to the type and soundness of the material and not to its colour or texture. 2. This Guarantee shall not apply to any painting or gilding on the memorial or to engravings infilled with lead. It should be noted that lead lettering is normally a more long-lasting form of inscription although this will depend on the position of the grave and the level of maintenance. 3. This Guarantee shall not apply to any damage caused by a third party, and shall become invalid if the memorial is removed or disturbed or otherwise worked upon by anyone other than the Seller. 4. This Guarantee applies only where an order clearly stating the type of material, the finish of the memorial and the full text of the inscription has been signed by the Purchaser and received by the Seller. By carefully and sympathetically cleaning the memorial stone, re-gilding the lettering and refixing it using modern anchoring techniques, we can reinstate it close to its original condition. There are rare occasions where the memorial is in such a poor state of repair that it will prove too expensive to renovate. In this case we will offer guidance on the alternatives available. Please contact us for a free, no-obligation quote. We can usually provide this from photographs. 5. This Guarantee will not apply to damage to candle boxes where it has been caused by excessive heat from oil lamps, candles or other burning objects. 6. All new memorials will be levelled once, without charge, up to the first two years following the date of completion of the order. This Guarantee is in addition to, and not in lieu of, any statutory or common law rights vested in the purchaser
