Plan A Fun Monster Adventure Hunt! All five monster themed adventure hunt puzzles provided revolve around the hunting down of five well known monsters: Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman, The Phantom of the Opera and The Mummy. Each puzzle will enable the player to track down a different monster First of all, these puzzles were designed specifically to be used in a scavenger hunt setting. They can all be used together (in the order of your choice) or individually as part of a Halloween or monster themed adventure hunt you have already designed. They were made to be versatile so have fun with them! If you choose to use all five of them, see below for a clever way to utilize the solutions from all five to answer a final puzzle! The instructions for each puzzle will mention the teams/players. This is simply referring to one unit. If your participants will be solving the adventure hunt all by themselves, then each person is their own team. If everyone is paired up, then every two becomes a team, and so on. It is important to know how many units will be participating so that you will be able to make the appropriate number of copies of each of the clues (plus some extras because.you always seem to need them.) Have fun with it! Have volunteers dressed up as one or more of the characters they are hunting for. The teams could be chased and even lose points if caught. Also, you can reproduce all the clues and puzzles onto old looking parchment paper.

So what EXACTLY is a Movie Adventure? Quest Experiences has released a new line of puzzle adventures that can be solved by viewing specific, popular movies - one movie per adventure. Movie viewers will follow a separate side story, filling in the clues along the way as they watch their favorite movie! SOMETHING THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN PARTICIPATE IN! JUST RELEASED! Keeping up with Quinn is not always an easy task. - you're always led to adventure! This time he encounters some mysterious findings behind the ancient Aztec Temple of Coatl. He'll need your help, though. Filling in the blanks of the story will ultimately help Quinn at the end of the tale, at his most desperate hour. Every blank can be filled in utilizing the combination of the story context and watching Raiders of the Lost Ark. Our movie adventure goes far beyond trivia. See Raiders of the Lost Ark like you've never seen it before! Gather the family together and enjoy each other's company playing a game that EVERYONE can enjoy. The young ones will have fun looking for the visuals while the adults will have a great time trying to figure out the minute details of the movie!

PUTTING THE FIVE PUZZLES TOGETHER As an added bonus, the puzzles were designed to be used in conjunction with each other such that, if each is solved correctly, the participants will be able to solve a sixth, bonus puzzle. If you want to use this bonus puzzle, offer the clue/puzzle below as the final stop. The answer is a STAR (if you trace the path from location to location as described in the clue with your finger you ll make the shape of star!) To use the puzzle, make a copy of the clue below the dotted line on this page. Write in the correct final destination of your adventure hunt next to the word STAR. Next to the other shapes, write false directions that will NOT lead to the correct final destination. Make copies of this clue for every team/player and provide them at a location that will lead them to the final destination Now that all of the monsters have been hunted down, it is important to know where they were found or were headed. By tracing with your finger the path detailed below, you ll discover that a shape is formed. Where Frankenstein was headed from the Olt River to where The Wolfman was found to where Dracula was located to where The Phantom of the Opera was found to where The Mummy was headed back to where Frankenstein was headed from the Olt River. What shape did you trace with your finger? Pentagon - Rectangle - Square - Triangle - Star - Heart - Moon -

PUZZLE #1 - This puzzle is great for those logic thinkers. Make a copy of the attached clue sheet, one for every player/team participating. Cut the top portion (the long paragraph) from each sheet along the dotted line and set them to the side. Do the same with the three clues below it, each of the three in their own stack. At this point, you should have four stacks of clues, one clue from each stack for each player/team. Two suggested ways to incorporate the puzzle into your adventure hunt are detailed as follows: 1. Have someone at the location, preferably dressed as either a villager or Frankenstein himself. They will hold the paragraph portions that you ve cut out. In the surrounding area around this person, hide the other three stacks. Teams will first approach the volunteer, begin searching for the three clues until they ve solved the puzzle, then they are given the next clue by the volunteer to go to a new location. 2. Have the teams arrive at the location, finding the paragraph situated on a rock, wall, etc. Take the other clues (just one of each, if you like) and hide them (but securely) around the location. Teams will stop at the location, read the paragraph, find the clues, solve the puzzle and then move on. NOTE: This will only work if your players/teams know where to go next BEFORE they even arrive. They are merely picking up information by solving a puzzle at a location. The answer to the puzzle is as follows: Ivan saw him at the Olt River heading toward Craiova. Sorin saw him at the Jamolita River heading toward Timisoara. Razvan saw him at the Muresula River heading toward Sibiu.

Frankenstein is definitely on the move. At a local village, three different travelers recalled seeing a tall gruesome figure roaming the woods, but each were so scared when they fled that they forgot where it was exactly that they spied him. Each of them (Ivan, Sorin and Razvan) saw him next to a river (the Olt, Jamolita and Muresul in some order) walking toward a certain city (Craivoa, Sibiu and Timisoara). They each wrote down what they could remember on small pieces of paper but these notes quickly went missing. Can you find the three notes and piece together who saw Frankenstein where and to which city he was headed? Razvan remembered seeing him by the Muresul River, but couldn t remember which city he was headed toward One of the three men saw him at the Jamolita River heading for Timisoara, but it wasn t Ivan who saw this Whichever of the three was at the Olt River knew for a fact that Frankenstein was not headed toward Sibiu from there.

PUZZLE #2 - This puzzle involves beginning with a long list of victims killed by The Wolfman. Teams must then find a sheet of clues that will eliminate all the victims names, except one. In this puzzle, the players/teams will learn that The Wolfman killed 11 young women, each from a different village. A local gypsy woman insists that The Wolfman is currently at one of those villages looking for yet another victim but which village? That is what they will find out. Begin by writing next to the name BIANCA FROM CHERNOVTSY the correct directions that, when followed, will lead the teams/players to the next stop in your hunt. Next to each of the other names, in a similar fashion, write down miscellaneous clues and directions that will lead the players/teams in the wrong direction if they follow them. Make sure that each girl s name has a different location/set of directions. Next, make copies of the next two pages, one for each of the players/teams. Two suggested ways to incorporate the puzzle into your adventure hunt are detailed as follows: 1. Have someone at the location, dressed either as a villager or Viorela herself.. They will hold a stack of copies of the next page (the page with the names.) In the surrounding area around this person, hide the stack of the other page (with all the clues on it.) Teams will first approach the volunteer, begin searching for the clues sheet until they ve solved the puzzle, then use their solution in your list of directions to go to the next stop. 2. Have the teams arrive at the location, finding the following page (with the young girls names) situated on a rock, wall, etc. Take the other clues sheets (just one, if you like) and hide them (but securely) nearby. Teams will stop at the location, read the sheet with the girl s names, find the clues sheet, solve the puzzle and then move on.

After The Wolfman s ll th victim and no clues to be found as to his current whereabouts, the townspeople had no other choice than to consult Viorela, a local gypsy woman, to see if she could help in any way. After sitting in a trance for over an hour, she emerged from her wagon. I have seen the name of a woman a victim of the beast. Go to her hometown he is there looking for yet another victim! With this, she held up a piece of paper that had her notes scribbled as to the young girl s name. Suddenly, though, a gust of wind blew the paper from her hand and carried it away. Can you find that paper and decipher which of the female victim s below fits the name description? Afina from Iasi - Bella from Bacau - Jenica from Oradea - Gabi from Satu-Mare - Nadia from Sibiu - Raluca from Brasov - Simona from Timisoara - Tatiana from Craiova - Florenta from Ruse - Bianca from Chernovtsy - Petronela from Ploesti

The name ended in an A The name began with a consonant The name had three syllables The first letter came before L in the alphabet The second letter was a vowel There are no J s in her name

PUZZLE #3 - In this puzzle, the players/teams must find three strips of paper, each with a set of letters. Once all three strips are found, they must line them up in a specific order to reveal a message. To prepare this puzzle, make a copy of the following page, one for every player/team participating. Then, cut along the dotted line of each creating two separate stacks of paper. Cut the letters pieces in three, same sized vertical pieces of paper such that each piece contains the letter combinations pictured below. I H I O R S A M A D W I E N A Create separate stacks of each strip (i.e. all the IHO IR sheets are together, etc.) Hide these three stacks throughout a certain area and stage a volunteer, dressed as a villager, in the vicinity to hold the stack of papers with the paragraph you first cut out. This person will hand the paragraph to each team/player as they approach. Once the team/player returns with the answer Oradea. that volunteer must give them the clue to the next location. When lined up the message reads I SAW HIM IN ORADEA.

The Phantom has been known to travel throughout the country, haunting every opera house as he goes. One villager spotted him and wrote down where he spotted him. When The Phantom saw the villager, he took him into the darkness and ripped his note into three pieces, throwing it into the wind. Can you find those three pieces and discover in which city he can be found? I S A W H I M I N O R A D E A

PUZZLE #4 In this puzzle, the teams/players will find two notes, one written by The Mummy and the other by an Egyptologist who had set out to find him. The note left by The Mummy is written entirely in Egyptian hieroglyphs. The Egyptologist found the note and was deciphering it (revealing where The Mummy was headed) but was carried off by the creature in mid translation. Once the teams/players find both sheets of paper, they ll be able to decipher the note and head out for the next location. Begin by printing out each of the three following sheets. On the first page (with the paragraph on top) write down the correct directions to the next stop in your hunt next to the word IASI. Next to each of the other city names, write FALSE directions ones that if used by the teams/players, they ll be led astray. Finally make copies of each sheet, enough for each team/player to have one (the third page has TWO mummy notes on one page for easier copying.) Two suggested ways to incorporate the puzzle into your adventure hunt are detailed as follows: 1. Have someone at the location, dressed as a villager or a mummy. They will hold the sheet with the paragraph and list of cities with directions. In the surrounding area around this person, hide the other two stacks. Teams will first approach the volunteer, begin searching for the two sheets then solve the puzzle. By translating the hieroglyphs, they ll then know which directions to follow from your city list. 2. Have the teams arrive at the location, finding the first page situated on a rock, wall, etc. Take the other two sheets and hide them (but securely) around the location. Teams will stop at the location, read the first page, find the two sheets, solve the puzzle and then move on.

A famed Egyptologist set out to find The Mummy before he could attack another victim. As he followed his trail, he found a small piece of paper with some Egyptian hieroglyphs printed on it. He was sure that the monster must have dropped it and that he must be very close to catching up to him. Too close, in fact. For before he could even finish translating the text, The Mummy appeared from the brush and dragged the poor Egyptologist away. Can you find that note as well as the Egyptologist s research in order to properly translate the Egyptian text and learn which city The Mummy is headed for next? Chernovtsy Ruse Ploesti Craiova Sibiu Bacau Iasi Oradea

Egyptian Hieroglyph Translations palace Chernovtsy Iasi great want, love gold hate Craiova is walking, headed for king Timisoara open expedition Ploesti Ruse Qis The Mummy Egyptologist Akhenaten Ahmose

PUZZLE #5 - In this puzzle, the teams/players get the classic experience of gathering different pieces of a map, piecing them together and discovering the location of a specifically marked city in Transylvania the last known whereabouts of Count Dracula. Once they have the name of the city, in this case Ploesti, they are to follow the directions next to the name Ploesti and continue on with the hunt. To use this puzzle, print the next three pages. Next to the word PLOESTI (on the second page,) write directions to the next location for your hunt. Next to each of the other cities, write wrong directions ones that will lead the teams/players astray if they follow them. Then, make copies of the first two pages one of each for every team/player. Finally, cut out each map cutting also along the thin, diagonal white lines to create 6 different stacks of map pieces. These six stacks are to be hidden around the area of the location. When teams/players come to the location, they are to be given a copy of following two pages by a volunteer first. They then begin searching for one of each of the six map pieces. Once they have all six, they are able to continue with their adventure. NOTE: It IS possible to figure out that the city is PLOESTI by only finding a couple pieces, however if you are using all five of the puzzles in conjunction with the bonus puzzle they must eventually find all six pieces of the map or they won t be able to solve that final puzzle!

Once Count Dracula s castle was stormed by the local villagers, he was forced to find a new home one with an ample supply of food nearby. Villagers from all over sent out scouts to try and track the villain down. Only young Vlad was successful in finding the fiend. He marked on his map which city the Count moved to. However, once many days had passed and Vlad had not returned home, a search party was sent to look for him. Unfortunately, he was attacked by wolves on his long return trek. The wolves managed to tear the map into six pieces. Can you find those six pieces, put them together and discover the whereabouts of the Count? Refer to the list of cities on the next page once you ve pieced together all six pieces.
