2 Shaw Contract Group collaborated with Bruce Mau Design to create L7, a collection It s a frame. It s a filter. It s a square. that brings color to carpet in a whole new way. Framed and arranged one pixelated hue at a time. Never before has so much richness and complexity been achieved within such a tightly defined palette. Never before has ordinary color seemed so extraordinary.

3 It s a brand new way of looking at carpet. It s a brand new way of seeing the world.

4 The world is so beautiful in its complexity of color. We wanted to capture this in carpet. But conventional carpet requires designers to stay within a very narrow band of the spectrum. We challenged Shaw Contract Group to think outside the gamut. The square became our basic unit of color and pattern. By juxtaposing a wide range of hues within a very limited color palette, we were able to achieve a richness of color never before seen in contract carpet. Bruce Mau

7 24 colors Bruce Mau and Shaw Contract Group achieved this depth of color by ignoring the rules of the past. And instead creating a fresh view of the future. Imagine a single shade of brown explored in twelve different hues. Each unit of square color blissfully co-existing to create the richly hued whole. And we didn t stop there. We also rethought the possibilities for packaging the carpet in solid tile. One tile of each hue is included in each box, and no single color is repeated.
