1 1 22 Internationale Solarkochertagung, 1-2 April 2017,Altötting, Germany African Network for Solar Energy Daniel Ayuk Mbi Egbe ANSOLE e.v., Ebertstr Jena, Germany, Institute for Polymeric Materials and Testing, JKU Linz, Altenbergerstr. 69, 4040 Linz, Austria, Skype: danielegbe1
2 2 Less than 40% of sub-saharan Africans have access to electricity The present yearly economic growth of Africa is ~5.5%, despite of lack of sufficient energy and infrastructure. However, Africa cannot embark on the same path as Europe, USA and China for its development by relying only or strongly on non environment-friendly energy sources. This is imperative in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ( ) and the resolution of COP 21 of maintaining the world temperature rise not above 1.5 C. The appropriate use of the abundant solar energy can be regarded as a solution to the African energy problem. This requires highly qualified human resources at all levels. Presence of local qualified skills lead to acceptance by the population of the renewable energy technologies and reduction of energy end-price.
3 GOALS 3 Fosters technical and vocational education and training(tvet) in renewable energies (RE) at various skill levels (capacity building) Fosters research activities in RE & Water among African scientists and non-african scientists involved in the education of African students and experts (capacity building) Promotes and encourages the use of RE in Africa (public education, substainable development, business mediation, environmental protection)
