In this case, the client wanted an eagle-themed award, but did not have the budget for a custom bronze eagle, nor the time to wait for a shipment of mass-produced eagles to be imported from China. Furthermore, they really wanted to have something that was USA made. As a custom, build-to-order factory located in the U.S., Winning Edge, Inc., was the perfect fit. We used our photo-imaging processes in house, combined with beveled glass and FSC certified wood to create this bold, USA-made award. We added an easel back so it could be displayed on a wall or a desk, and the project was thousands of dollars less than custom bronze or importing mass produced, pot-metal eagles from overseas. We sourced natural, quarry harvested green marble, cutting and polishing each component by hand. We chose unique optic crystal and glass shapes, with deep bevels and chiseled angles to deflect and scatter light. 27 GEO BAMBOO DESK AWARDS ECO ASCENT BAMBOO PANELS CASE STUDY: BAMBOO Our customer wanted an Eco-Friendly item, small enough to fit in a cubicle, but large in look and design to have an impressive presence. We chose earth-friendly and quickly replenishing bamboo for the core material component. With a color palette of light, medium and dark tones, bamboo offers a rich, elegant, sophisticated and contemporary look that fits in nearly all office and home settings. We went with strong, geometric shapes to give the bold look they were looking for, combined two species of bamboo for contrast, and synced the bamboo grain vertically to give the illusion of more height. Hand-cut, hand-finished, lasered, color-filled and assembled in our Minneapolis factory, the recipients were happy to know that in addition to being Eco-Friendly, their awards were USA Made.
