1 Arne Jacobsen s chair model 3208 was originally designed for the Danish central bank It is also referred to as the Lily and was first introduced at the Danish furniture fair in 1970 The chair is a result of an extremely complicated process that ensures the perfect curves and hence best comfort Design: Arne Jacobsen

2 ARNE JACOBSEN Our cooperation with Arne Jacobsen dates back to 1934, but it was in 1952 the break-through came with the Ant chair It was succeeded by the 3107 series in 1955 This propelled his and Fritz Hansen s names into furniture history Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstanding designer While the significance of Arne Jacobsen s buildings was less appreciated, his furniture and other design work have become national and international heritage

3 DESIGNER Arne Jacobsen, 1970 (2008) DESCRIPTION Chair for the office or home Designed by Arne Jacobsen; manufactured by Fritz Hansen FINISH The shell is made of moulded plywood The wood is laquered, and the chair comes in three colours (red, white & black) The chairs have armrests The base is 14 mm steel tubes with 4 legs (model 3208) with leg ferrules of blackgrey synthetic material; height adjustable swivel base with 5 castors (model 3218) The model 3218 is delivered with 5 standard hard-wheel castors with alu caps VARIANTS Shell and armrests come without upholstery or in a leatherupholstered version All finishes can be with two different frames - four legs or with castors All versions (3208 and 3218) comes with a chromed base UPHOLSTERY The upholstered version of the chair is as a standard version upholstered in black Soft leather The thickness of the upholstery is mm Other leather versions are possible as a special order DIMENSIONS (3208) Height Seat height Width Weight 81 cm 44 cm 64 cm 7 kg DIMENSIONS (3218) Height Seat height Width Weight cm cm 64 cm 7 kg

4 MAINTENANCE Clean the laquered wood shell by wiping with a dry cloth To remove stubborn spots, use a cloth wrung out in lukewarm water If this does not remove the spot, a weak solution containing a universal cleaning agent or dish detergent may be used Afterwards, wipe with a cloth wrung out in clean water and then dry with a dry cloth The chromed frame can be wiped with a dry or moist cloth and then dried with a dry cloth The leather is to be cleaned and maintained as specified in the directions that come with the chair or according to the leather manufacturer's instructions ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLINESS AND TESTING The chair can be completely disassembled into parts to be recycled or incinerated Laquered chairs are surface-treated with a polyurethane varnish that does not give off formaldehyde EN 1728: strength and durability; test level 2 according to DS/INF 130 EN 1022: stability GUARANTEE A five-year guarantee against manufacturing defects in standard products (materials and workmanship) Wear, tear and damage to the product is not covered under this warranty Claims from end users under the guarantee must be submitted to the vendor from whom the product was purchased PACKAGING The chair comes packed in a foam bag and a cardboard box All measurements are for guidance only Height: 86 cm Width: 56 cm Depth: 66 cm Weight incl packaging: 10 kg June 2008
