3 Customised So utions Customised Fit Ionic Stone was created when we realised that the UK building industry had been missing something basic but vital good quality natural stone tiles at reasonable prices. Whilst being a newcomer to the industry, we quickly discovered a passion; wandering around the world and striving to source materials that were original yet cost-effective. This led to the establishment of fruitful relationships with suppliers around the world. So, we kept our promise: we delivered good quality products at sensible prices. But the world was changing and the market place was becoming more and more competitive. It s with utmost pride that with the help of our loyal customers, most of whom have been with us since our inception, in addition to the many who have joined the Ionic family en route, we took the next step creating a production facility with the aim of removing intermediary costs, controlling the quality and selections we provide, and focusing on getting the best results at the lowest costs. This has been an important factor when supporting large scale projects around the world. Understanding how material is produced, the differences between various types of materials, and how important these differences can affect the final result is fundamental in our role not only as a manufacturer, but as the persons who need to support our clients and guide them towards the best solutions. Anyone in the stone industry knows that problems do occur. It s how they re dealt with that counts, and I can promise that our objective has and will always be to resolve these issues quickly, efficiently and fairly. This is a core value that has been instilled to everyone on the Ionic Team. As the industry evolves, so do we and with it our range, both in colours, formats and finishes. Company Factory Quarry Founded nearly 20 years ago with the intention of supplying natural stone tiles and mosaic ranges to retailers, we have unquestionably become one of the UK s largest stone tile

of space, and over 350,000 m 2 of stocks, we are renowned for our excellent customer service and high quality of products.

By the end of 2011 our factory began its operations and since then, approximately half of the production capacity is allocated for the UK demands.

6 Company Factory Quarry Founded nearly 20 years ago with the intention of supplying natural stone tiles and mosaic ranges to retailers, we have unquestionably become one of the UK s largest stone tile distributors. Today, with two UK distribution centres totalling over 80,000 sq. ft. of space, and over 350,000 m 2 of stocks, we are renowned for our excellent customer service and high quality of products. In 2009 a vast investment began into processing by establishment of a stone processing facility. By the end of 2011 our factory began its operations and since then, approximately half of the production capacity is allocated for the UK demands. Sitting on a 32,000-m 2 - land, the Ionic factory is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and is fully integrated to process any type of stone into any format required. The factory is located in Denizli, only a stone s throw away from the world-famous travertine quarries and strategically placed between our Lilia quarry and the Izmir Port. Located on the Turkish part of the Alp-Himalayan mountains, the LILIA quarry is fully owned by us and produces the most warm-coloured cream marble, which makes it an extremely attractive choice for projects. In addition to this quarry, due to a network of long-term relationships, we have the capability to source many types of Turkish materials; we focus on the purchasing of marble and travertine blocks extracted especially in the Western part of Turkey to be processed into slabs, cut-to-size and tiles at our processing plant. To date, we have processed over 60 different materials for a myriad of projects. 4

We heavily support technological and methodological development and promote research activity within the company.

7 Panoramic view of the Ionic factory Our processing plant has the monthly production capability of over 40,000 m 2 for slabs or 20,000 m 2 for cut-to-size and tiles. The factory has the necessary High Production Output equipment and organisational skills to cover the entire manufacturing process: from block sawing to the final touches of cut-to-size pieces. We heavily support technological and methodological development and promote research activity within the company. As well as using the very latest, the stateof-the-art machinery, which increases the quality of production and reduces costs related to processing, we set up a division called Ionic Machines, which is charged with the task of improving the technology of Fully automated multi-storey oven system, produced by Ionic Machines, the R&D department of Ionic Stone. This system is called Ion-System and its operational mechanism is internationally patented. Advanced Manufacturing the current machines at the plant and creating new and novel machines for our own use. Ionic Machines are specialised in the reinforcement of marble slabs, and produce the most critical equipment for marble strengthening: multi-storey oven systems. Today, this division equips marble factories in Turkey with its machines and holds international patents for some of these machines. 5

However, resin and mesh application can sometimes create problems for end-users in installation; certain adhesives do not work on reinforced tiles.

Techniques used in our production are most advanced, and all products go through stringent quality checks before they are packed. Most of Ionic s marble tiles are enhanced with resin and mesh and are therefore reinforced for durability and strength. However, resin and mesh application can sometimes create problems for end-users in installation; certain adhesives do not work on reinforced tiles. To tackle that issue, grains of marble are sprayed onto the backs of tiles so that setting can occur. Dry-Lay As Standard Selection of stone can sometimes be a headache. All of our stones are pre-laid before they are packed into wooden crates. Firstly, the material is selected by colour and laid onto the floor in batches. These are then further selected according to the base colour and veining or characteristics so as to achieve the best overall blend. Finally, these tiles are collected and carefully packed into solid wooden crates ready for export. Merchandising As Standard We understand the nature of retailing better than most producers. From merchandised packaging to display stands, we can provide assistance in the critical yet overlooked parts of the business. We produce merchandised display stands laden with our entire range, which will help qucikly transform stocks into sales. Additionally, if the order volume is sufficient enough, the packaging of our products could also be customised for you. 6
