19 Milestone : OLAE Vision Paper 8 Recommendations : Establish European platform on OLAE Develop SRA to coordinate EC and national research funding Establish specific measures to close the gap between R&D and commercialisation Nurture the emergence of an European OLAE industry, for example through new approaches to create lead markets Increase the funding budget for R&D in proportion to the huge expected markets Develop an ERA-Net plus approach for cooperation beyond Europe Take measures to early establish standards for new products Establish innovative education & training schemes

22 Opera work to be done! WP2 Clusters : Clusters create the infrastructure to drive the OLAE technology from lab to fab and onto full commercialization. A gravitation point of competences and resources which can drive innovation. Cluster strategy need to be developed further. WP4 Entrepreneurship : Start-up s and SME s are at the core of European industry and key to innovation now that European Giants are aging. Facilities should be created to enhance the establishment and growth. Drivers need to be developed further. WP5 Standards : Standards in device/application/product specicification as well as in manufacturing/processing are essential for an nacient industrial sector to grow. Work started needs to be continued.
