3 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY A a Ditrict, Judon Independent School Ditrict (Judon ISD) mut rie to the challenge of preparing tudent and taff for a tomorrow that i becoming increaingly dependent on technology. Both ociety and the workplace are continually demanding higher level thinking kill and greater flexibility than in previou generation. We believe all tudent and taff need to be prepared to meet the technical challenge of the 21t century through learning appropriate computer literacy kill that will provide them a et of kill to expand their ability for lifelong learning. Student will receive intruction on clearly defined technology kill that meet technology proficiency requirement for their grade level or coure through a computer literacy program adopted by the tate for elementary and middle chool. Judon ISD will take advantage of thee reource in the coming year to meet both the TA TEKS and the integration of technology into the core content TEKS. The economy and funding continue to be an iue for Judon ISD. The ditrict continue to expand at an average rate of 3% per year. With thee challenge the ditrict mut find a way to continue to provide tate of the art technology with limited reource. With the paing of the 2016 bond, $12 million ha been earmarked to continue modernizing technology infratructure, upgrading device at campue and enhancing ecurity at all facilitie. In the lat two year the tate of Texa cut the vital Technology Allotment funding for all ditrict including Judon ISD. Thee fund allowed u to keep updating much of our claroom technology and to be able to provide vital intructional technology upport to claroom teacher. Being able to replace the outdated network infratructure that remain at our non-erate chool i a priority for thi plan period. While there are murmur that erate fund are drying up, Judon ISD i hopeful that limited priority 2 fund will be available to help keep the network equipment in atifactory working condition through the pan of thi plan. A fat high peed wired and wirele network are critical to Judon ISD. Almot all technology initiative from the back office to the claroom revolve around the network, o it peed and reliability are of paramount importance. Data of all type, tudent information ytem, finance information ytem, video, lighting control, HVAC control, voice telephone call, , intant meaging, web conferencing, online learning and much more now all tranvere the Judon ISD network. We do not ee thi proce tapering off, but only increaing over the next three year. A more and more campue look at adding more tudent device for learning, whether they are Ditrict purchaed tablet, laptop, or e-reader, or whether they are tudent who are BYOD (bringing your own device), the amount and variety of claroom device i growing daily and will muhroom in the three year of thi plan. To promote digital literacy, Judon ISD will con nue to increae the number of mobile device available to claroom teacher and tudent, i.e. ipad, kindle fire, chrombook, etc, ued to trategically find and evaluate information, connect and collaborate with other, produce and hare original content, and ue the Internet and technology tool to achieve many academic goal. Judon ISD ha already uccefully deployed pervaive wirele at all ite acro the Ditrict. Cot will have to be incurred to upport and poibly enhance thi, but opportunitie to reduce cot will not be ignored. Judon ISD will continue to heavily embrace erver virtualization and engage in implementing cloud olution when they make ene. Increaingly, high quality refurbihed network gear and end uer computing device may have to be ued, due to limited funding tream for capital replacement. While Judon ISD i extremely well poitioned for providing network and cloud baed ervice for , funding challenge for providing a modern up to date infratructure and end uer device during the plan period will be caue for concern with being able to uccefully execute many initiative.
