ICT4 Manuf. Competence Center Prof. Yacine Ouzrout University Lumiere Lyon 2 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center AI and CPS for Manufacturing Robot software testing Development of software technologies for CPS on manufacturing system Manufacturing system, design and optimization; Organizational Behavior Anticipate and facilitate the implementation process Information System Agility Integration of new enablers in the IS Adaptation and improvement of the software part of the IS to allow new behavior 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 1
DT-FOF Project context HINTAR-HRC Holistic INTelligence and Augmented Reality for Human-Robot Collaboration Human-Robot collaboration is a cornerstone of factories of the future. On-going projects focus on technical innovations (Intelligent motion planning algorithms, advanced safety equipment ) and/or specific applications (metal and composite parts, glass polishing ) We consider as acquired: a robot can evolve in its environment considering its own sensors and actuators. workers and organizations play a crucial role in the success of automation processes 11/8/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 2
Project presentation Call Challenges Integration of Humancentred designed robotics Novel artificial intelligence technologies Robotic hazard assessment and risk management Social Sciences and Humanities Project Objectives Integrate human aspects in the robot system Adopt a holistic view of the factory for an effective implementation Develop software technologies for fast installation of HRC Use augmented reality to improve Human- Robot communication Proposal organization Human-Robot as a system Holistic intelligence Software behavior and Human safety individuals perceptions and behavior in the changed organizational setting 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 3
Human-Robot as a system Make the H-R system works like 2 humans can work together New types of collaboration Use multiple types of communication HMI 4.0 Adaptation of the robot to the human and vice versa. Mutual observation and interpretation due to experience Integrate a new dynamic relation leader / conducted Integration of safety, Human science, Artificial Intelligence Evolution of the collaboration mode : linear evolution instead of breaking/level evolution. The human should barely perceive the changes of the robot behavior. 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 4
Holistic intelligence There are already lots of approaches to make a robot intelligent. We consider to use these approaches for each robot. A global intelligence Soft Robots for automatic reconfigurable robots Modeling the holistic collaboration Integration of smart sensors in the environment of the factory Sharing information Splitting and allocating decisions between all stakeholders (robots or humans) Integration into the existing system : connection to the IS and the production line operations Adaptation to the capacity of human (handicap, for example) 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 5
Software behavior and Human safety The whole system must act for the safety. It means that the robots have to be safe, but they have to communicate about their decisions in case of risk. Safety insured by behavior analysis Human-Robot communication by using the augmented reality (HMI 4.0) Analysis of robot as well as human behavior before acting Software behavior insurance Robot software automatic tests for safety and maintainability Cyber security management, real time detection Fast integration using adapted software tools 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 6
Change management Individuals perceptions and behavior in the changed organizational setting 1 cross sectoral study, 3 embedded scopes Macro level : Changes of existing factories Meso level : Work groups Impact analysis of the new organization of the factory. Questioning of the current organization and the changes required to improve the whole system. Analysis of the new distribution of tasks between humans and robots Management of the break vs continuous improvement Micro level : Individuals. Ergonomy Feeling of security 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 7
WP8 : Divulgation WP9 : Project management Project structure (WPs) WP1 : Vision, scenario, requirements WP7 : Business Model and Exploitation WP2 : Holistic collaborative architecture WP6 : Factory integration WP5 : Risk management - Robot behavior - Cyber security - Safety - Human aspect WP4 : Robotics SDK WP3 : HRC Framework for IHM 4.0 WP1: Vision, scenario, requirements Elaboration of the scenario with industrials WP2: Holistic collaborative architecture Elaboration of an holistic model Choose a model: supervision / aggregation / independent WP3: HRC Framework for HMI 4.0 Elaboration the communication model between Human and robots Choose efficient hardware and adapt it WP4: Robotics SDK Create the development kit to integrate multiple types of robots Make the SDK available for multiple robots Make the SDK usable by non specialists WP5: Risk management Integrate the risk to every layer: Robot behavior, Software stability, Cyber security, Human aspect, Law respect WP6: Factory integration Integrate the scenarios defined in WP1 in a factory considering global to specific concerns WP7: Business model and exploitation Elaborate the business model to transfer competencies to companies WP8: Divulgation Research contribution WP9: Project management Making the project succeed 08/11/2017 ICT 4 Manufacturing Competence Center, Lyon - France (ICT4Manuf@univ-lyon2.fr) 8
