3 CaTS TM (Cable-less Telemetry System) Introduction Field proven Cableless Telemetry System capable of transmitting real time pressure and temperature data from downhole gauge at depths >12,500ft Uses metallic structure of well as conduit to transmit electromagnetic signals (EM) and has been in development for over two decades Expro are world leaders and the only company with extensive and proven track record using EM to successfully deliver data from permanently abandoned wells System performance can be accurately predicted using a refined multi-physics Finite Element Analysis software that utilises a database of historical deployments EM is the only current technology to wirelessly monitor below cement plugs and offers a more reliable solution for casing set mechanical barriers 3

5 Guidelines & Standards United Kingdom Oil & Gas UK Active barriers provide well pressure containment at all times and verification of their integrity condition is achieved by appropriate well condition monitoring which may be defined as real time monitoring and interpretation of well data. Barriers should be monitored and maintained during the life of the well. The ability of well operations personnel to recognise barrier failure, and react to it, is a very important aspect of their competency. If barriers become degraded (not fully functional) the well-operator should have a management system for recognising and reacting to the situation. the verification requirements to assure the competence of the plug(s) as a barrier. Source Oil & Gas UK - Well Lifecycle integrity Guidelines, Issue 3, March 2016 Phase 1 and 2 abandonment must be carried out so that the well can be re-entered safely, and then secured using pressure control equipment without compromising the barriers in place. Placement of the secondary barrier, if required should consider the consequences of potential failure of the first (deeper) barrier. 6 Guidelines & Standards Norway - NORSOK Temporary Abandonment (Section 9.5.1) Well status, where the well is abandoned and the primary and secondary well barriers are not continuously monitored and not routinely tested. The maximum abandonment period shall be three years. It shall be possible to re-enter temporary abandoned wells in a safe manner for the planned duration of the temporary abandonment. Verification of well barrier elements (Section ) When a WBE has been installed, its integrity shall: a) be verified by means of pressure testing by application of a differential pressure; or b) when a) is not feasible, be verified by other specified methods. 8 Suspended Subsea Well Monitoring Overview Suspended Well Monitoring including Verification of Primary & Secondary Well Barriers Knowing the status of the primary well barrier when returning to carry out full abandonment activities reduces risk, saves time and cost. Expro CaTS Wireless gauge can be installed below the upper well barrier during suspension (temporary abandonment) to monitor the primary well barrier for up to 7 years. Provides the data required to plan a wireline free removal of the upper completion. Enables rig time saving 3 days per well (subsea). Achieves real time monitoring and well can be reentered safely for permanent abandonment O&G UK / NORSOK. Subsea system can be installed and run on a debris/trash cap, trawler structure, Xmas tree or retrofitted 35 subsea wells instrumented for long term monitoring (2006 onwards) 8
