9 How women became visible in fisheries? Significant support by Public administration, Consellería do Mar Legal framework to promote and boost the role of women as professionals (Galicia, France, Training activities, liaison network, personal endeavor of administration staff Workshops for Women in fisheries. Not only representatives but also, and mostly, fisheries women EFF, European programmes EQUAL, INTERREG, Social Fund, etc Networking: Spanish Women Fisheries Network: workshop for entrepreneurship Andalucian Entrepreneurship Network, Galician Net Menders Asociation, Vasque Country and Cantabria

10 EFF: key in women involvement EFF goal: g) promote equality between men and women in the development of the fisheries sector and fisheries areas and art. 11 The Member States and the Commission shall ensure that equality between men and women.. Axis 3 : (k) networking and exchange of experience and best practice among organisations promoting equal opportunities between men and women and other stakeholders Axis 4 : The EFF may also finance up to a maximum of 15 % of the priority axis involved, measures such as the promotion and improvement of professional skills, worker adaptability and access to employment, particularly in favour of women, provided that these measures are an integral part of a sustainable development strategy and that they have a direct link with the measures described in paragraph 1.

The future The European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, through its community-led approach, recognises for the first time the role that spouses often play in the family fishing business. They can benefit from EMFF support for training, in particular for the acquisition of skills linked to entrepreneurship and business management Partnerships between scientists and fishermen to foster the transfer of knowledge
