By Satellites or large undersea cables. 3- What do we use the internet for? We use it for finding information, talking to family and friends, learning about the news and entertainment. 4- What are the two types of computers in the internet? They are servers and clients. 5- What does WWW stand for? World Wide Web. 6- Where can we store information? We can store information on CDs, DVDs, flash memories and external hard disks. 7- How were messages sent in the past? By fires, messengers, flags and the telegraph. 8- What is the Morse Code? It is a code of dots and dashes used to send messages. 9- Who invented the telephone? Alexander Graham Bell and Antonio Meucci. 10- Who invented the Internet? Tim Berners-Lee. 11- What keeps your brain safe? Or How is the brain protected? The hard skull, the thick tissue and the fluid. 12- What are the parts of the brain? The cerebrum, the cerebellum and the brain stem. 13- The brain is the boss of your body. Explain. Because it controls our body. 14- What does the brain stem control? It controls the actions that happen without thinking. 15- What is the biggest part of the brain called? It is called ( cerebrum ).

By using a compass, a map, a navigator devise or by following the stars. 3- Why do animals migrate? They migrate in search of food, warmth or a place to have their young. 4- Where are penguins found? They are found on the shores of Australia and New Zealand. 5- What do grey whales do in cold and warm water? In warm water, they look after their young. In cold water, they look for food. 6- Name TWO islands. Surtsy, Hawaii and Madagascar. 7- How many islands are there in Kuwait? Name TWO of them. There are nine islands in Kuwait. They eat seaweed that grows there and they eat dead fish and plants that come from above. 13- Where are grasslands found? Africa, the Americas and Australia. 14- Describe the diets of two grassland animals?

It is an old ship used by Arab merchants 1000 years ago. 6- What are the dangers faced while travelling by sea? Sharks the bad weather lack of water and food. 7- How should a sailor be? Brave strong clever adventurous 8- How are ships steered? By the rudder. 9- Name some parts of a ship? A mast a deck a sail an anchor a rudder 10- Why do people tell or read stories? For enjoyment and teaching/ learning morals. 11- What is your favourite story? By turning off water taps when we are not using them, watering plants when it is not very hot, abd using the shower instead of the tub. 16- How can we raise awareness about the environment? Through special festivals, posters, newspapers, TV and radio programmes. 17- Why should countries grow their own vegetables and fruit? To save money, because they taste great and they are not polluted Unit Who is Trevor Baylis? He is the inventor of the wind-up radio. He was a champion swimmer. 2- Why did Trevor Baylis invent the wind- up radio? To help people in Africa learn about illnesses. 3- Why is the wind-up radio important? Because some people don't have electricity and batteries are expensive. 4- How does a wind-up radio work? By turning the handle for two minutes. 5- Where do we do experiments? 6 9- What is refraction? When white light passes through water, it breaks up into many colours. This is called refraction. 10- Why do some animals like snakes see in the dark? Because they can see infrared light. 11- What are the colours of the rainbow? Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. 12- What did Thomas Edison invent? The first machine for playing music and the cinema. He also improved the light bulb and the telephone. He worked with electricity. 13- What do you need to invent? A good imagination and a pile of junk. 14- What word did Thomas Edison invent? Which machine was it invented for? He invented the word ( hello ), for the telephone. 15- Why do some people use glasses? Because they have some problems with their eyes and they can't see well. 16- Name some useful inventions. The computer, the telephone, the TV, the radio, the plane and the car. Unit What is creativity? It is the ability to invent or imagine something new. 2- Why is creativity useful? Because it helps us find solutions to our problems and it helps us improve our life. 3- Mention some ways of being creative. a- Evolution of ideas. For example, building on all changes made in the past to design a new car. b- Putting ideas together. For example, joining the ideas of a computer and a network to have the Internet. c- Changing how we do things. For examples, sending a tube with a camera into the body to treat it from the inside. d- Finding a new use for things. For example, using plastic for photographic films. e- Changing approach. For example, taking away all speed signs and restrictions from streets to make drivers slow down.

7 4- What clothes should we wear in summer? Why? Light coloured clothes. Because white reflects the sun's rays. 5- Why shouldn't we wear dark clothes in summer? Because dark colours absorbs the sun's ray, so they make us feel hot. 6- What happens if you look directly at the sun? You will damage your eyes. 7- What do scientist need to make important discoveries? Imagination and knowledge. 8- What is a vaccine? It is a weak form of a disease, it helps us to cope with the strong form of the disease. 9- Why are vaccines important? Because they make our bodies immune to diseases. 10- Why do we use yellow stickies? To write down important notes. 11- Mention TWO scientists and one thing each of them invented.
