Dassault Systèmes at Hannover Messe 2018: Storyline "IF partnerships are the heart of the industry renaissance WE need new ways of working together" While Industry 4.0 describes the digital transformation of production, the Industry Renaissance takes a broader perspective and describes the overarching, comprehensive changes triggered by the digitization of industry in business and society. Companies have to safeguard traditional values, drive innovation and develop products that are in line with ever-changing customer needs. Sustainability, personalization and the product experience itself come to the fore in purchasing decisions. The key to meeting these requirements lies in digital continuity throughout the entire product life cycle - from the initial idea to after-sales service - and consistent and improved communication - both between people and machines. Virtual and augmented reality, realistic simulations and the complete digital mapping of development, production and service processes play a decisive role here. The mixture of virtual and real creates new possibilities for cooperation within the company and beyond company boundaries. Dassault Systèmes will present these "New Ways of Working" at Hannover Messe 2018 in cooperation with BOSCH Rexroth. The strategy of Bosch Rexroth, one of the leading suppliers of automation solutions, is to make complexity manageable at batch size 1. "Factory of the Future" mean decentralization, autonomy, re-combinable units, configurable and parameterizable components. Dassault Systèmes supports the planning and monitoring of these processes with the 3DEXPERIENCE Twin, an enhanced digital twin that s adds behavioral data characterized by the following features: Based on a consistent data model. Contains all relevant behavioral data on motion, control, service, maintenance, sales, purchasing, production, logistics, electrics and hydraulics. Contains the entire administration of this data including the associated metadata, e.g. versions, configurations, risks, projects, requirements. Changes have an automatic effect on all applications without further interfaces. So much more than a geometric representation (DMU), or different specialized twins, each limited by file-based data systems as is commonly found on the market. Dassault Systèmes Showcase at the Hannover Fair 2018 The excavator manufacturer BEE Corporation wants to improve the availability of its machines. A large number of measured values are to be constantly recorded and transmitted in the machine for service statements. Rexroth announces the SCD sensor for such purposes at Hannover Messe The 2x2 cm high connectivity device can measure various data (accelerations, heat, light, and electromagnetic fields) and bundle them via Bluetooth plug & play. This data is transferred to the cloud via the Bosch-Rexroth IoT gateway. The excavator manufacturer must therefore be able to make various extensions and adapt his service business on this basis. To succeed, BEE Corporation needs a 3DEXPERIENCE Twin of the excavator. In addition, we will show how the original Bosch Rexroth SCD sensor is manufactured using an automated, flexible assembly line. 1

Here too, a 3DEXPERIENCE Twin is required to map and master the production system. The Bosch-Rexroth IoT gateway with the sensors will be the continuous data supplier for the 3DEXPERIENCE cloud. SCD Sense Connect Detect Structure of the stand We have divided our stand into 3 groups of "New Ways of Working" (according to the different viewpoints/tasks of the visitors): New Ways of Business New Ways of Engineering New Ways of Manufacturing This enables visitors to obtain targeted information on the topics relevant to them. The Dassault Systèmes guided tours also follow this structure. They lead over the stations with the corresponding focal points. 2

New Ways of Business No company can escape the changes of the Industry Renaissance. New business models, new services, better cooperation, smart products, new technologies and added value for the customer enable differentiation in a highly competitive market. "New Ways of Business" show strategies that make this possible. What are the benefits of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in terms of understanding, collaboration, overview, analysis, preferably on any device, even mobile? The new 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace is perfect for customers and sellers alike. Cloud enables low costs and fast implementation. In the virtual showroom you can experience innovation immediately. Station 6 and Station 12: Virtual Showroom Interactive Virtuality is a technology that represents virtual things exactly as they are seen and perceived in reality. Contents can be transported as a whole. Countless areas of application are opened up: rendered in real time, this technology is excellent for marketing and sales, equipped with triggers and animations may also be perfect for service and production. For engineers, complicated geometry and behaviour are presented in a coherent and accessible way. For illustration we have 3 HTC Vives, on which the following showcases can be "experienced": the animated representation of the BOSCH production line on display the online configuration of the BEE excavator in CATIA plus a third station on the BOSCH-Rexroth booth in Hall 17, Stand A40 Station 13: 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace and Cloud Solutions Dassault Systèmes cloud services guarantee fast implementation and easy operation of your business development platform. The online Marketplace connects service providers and users. This is particularly valuable, for example, for the awarding of 3D print jobs, which can be handled completely via the "Make" app. The "Part Supply" app initially offers 3D parts from many manufacturers. The next phase of Part Supply will deliver greater value with enriched 3D models containing additional information such as the behaviour of the products. For example, electrical or hydraulic information including pressure capacity, classes and flow rates, as well as their switching behavior, are conceivable. This could also extend to robotic devices with their movement, drives and I/Os. Station 14: Engineering Collaboration Network The Fraunhofer Institute for Design Engineering Mechatronics (IEM) in Paderborn is Dassault Systèmes simulation partner. With the Engineering Collaboration Network, small and medium business can adopt digital and other new technologies more quickly using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in conjunction with a knowledgeable network across Germany. Station 15: 3DEXPERIENCE Business Platform The 3DEXPERIENCE platform connects people, products and information across the entire organization. Using real-time and drill-down active dashboards, users have access to analyses and reports as well as project overviews on various aspects of their business via individualized views. 3

New Ways of Engineering CATIA's 3D modeling applications on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform serve new approaches and areas of product development. Station 8: Design Collaboration Our 3DEXPERIENCE platform is more than CAD. It is based on a consistent data model, also known as a "single source of truth". This includes behavioral data and all business-relevant metadata, such as versions, configurations, risks, projects, and requirements. All changes are immediately applied and traceable throughout the process. Station 9: Objective and Constraint Based Design A radically new design approach is needed to take full advantage of additive manufacturing or 3D printing processes. See how a project can be implemented from requirements through to topology optimization and into production via the online marketplace. Our partner APWorks GmbH (previously AIRBUS, now owned by Premium Aerotec) supports us with top grade metal 3D printing knowledge and know-how. Station 10: Systems Engineering (+Power'By) Power'By is a new method for connecting different CAx systems to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Power'By enables full integration of CATIA V5 parts within the platform without loss of history. Modified in V5, these parts synchronize with the platform. Additionally, we show MBSE (Model-Based System Engineering) in the context of the Bee excavator. Station 11: Field Operations Service and maintenance in most companies is due to malfunctions. In our example, the excavator equipped with SCD sensors provides a flood of data that needs to be analyzed and transformed into actions. The analytic capabilities of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform expose problems with the hydraulic pump and a faulty seal is diagnosed. A CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventive Action) process is acted: resulting in a new supplier and replacement of the part in the excavator. 4

New Ways of Manufacturing In many companies, production facilities are working at full capacity. At the same time, more transparency and agility are expected. BOSCH Rexroth is driving forward the "Factory of the Future", a concept in which autonomous, flexible production units can be recombined and arranged. The concatenation should no longer be programmed, but parameterized. In addition to the autonomous production units, a similarly flexible level is required to control and correct orders. Before the lines go into production, orders must first be created and simulated in all their flexibility. This is done using the 3DEXPERIENCE Twin of the production plant and processes. The SCD sensors are manufactured on BOSCH Rexroth's automated production line. Various components can be manufactured in small batch sizes. The system consists of 5 components: A staging rack (new parts to be produced and storage of the produced parts), a collaborative assembly robot (due to touch-sensitive casing, the device works without a protective fence), an infeed station (for pressing the housings), robots for screwing the assembly together, and a laser marking station with optional outfeed. The workpiece carrier travels the course autonomously, the cycle time is usually specified by the screwdriving robot, but malfunctions can also be provoked. Station 1: Line Layout Before the line can be laid out, the assembly planning of the product must be carried out. The resulting steps lead to the layout planning of the flexible units - actually plant layout and engineering. The assemblies can come from the online marketplace, so they already have production and movement data. This makes subsequent automation much easier. Station 2: Line Automation We show a detailed simulation of the screwdriving robot. We examine whether the robot with a heavier screwdriver can still be properly positioned at the appropriate cadence. In the worst case, overshooting occurs, which then leads to slower movements and thus significantly lower cycle times. This is modeled using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Offline programming of the robot serves to predict paths, their interpolations precisely, and ensure they are collision-free. One outcome is that training on the line is practically omitted. Station 3: Operate the Line With DELMIA Apriso, the system connects to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in real time. Work orders, work instructions, recorded data and signals can be easily exchanged. In our case we monitor the plant (monitoring) and read out various signals and data (e.g. quality data). At the same time orders can be placed, e.g. different coloured sensor housings. Station 4: Order Scheduling With DELMIA Ortems we show the dynamic detailed planning of the work sequences. The interdependencies of the work sequences must be taken into account. The same applies to the availability of resources (capacity planning), so that the planned finish date can be kept. Various optimization criteria can be used. Station 5: Shopfloor human collaboration (with 3DLEAN) With 3DLEAN you can discuss and make decisions with the production team for the upcoming shift tasks in 5-minute meetings. The current production data, planning data and other information are prepared specifically and serve as an efficient basis. Station 7: Virtual Line Change Thanks to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform's consistent, database-base model, all associated simulations and changes are tracked immediately, typical commissioning problems can be prevented and downtime for retrofits minimized. Changing components of the screwdriving robot has an immediate effect as shown by a behavioral simulation, so preventative measures can be acted immediately. The 3DEXPERIENCE Twin has a clear advantage versus file-based systems. In file-based systems, every change requires an export/import where information is lost and significant rework is often required despite automated interfaces. 5

Appendix: Dassault Systèmes, catalyst and enabler of the Industry Renaissance for sustainable innovation from Bernard Charlès Through virtual experiences, augmented reality and realistic simulation, digital technology revolutionizes our relationship with knowledge, just like the printing press did in the 15th century. The new book is the virtual experience that adds knowledge and know-how while eliminating the gap between experimentation and learning. As a result, a real Industry Renaissance is emerging worldwide. Combining the real and the virtual leads to new ways of seeing the world, of inventing, learning, producing and doing business. It creates new ways for industries and technologies to interact. New categories of industrial companies are creating new categories of solutions for new categories of customers. Tesla has forever changed the automotive market, and Joby Aviation or Blue Origin the aerospace market. Value today is in the usage rather than the product. In today s experience-based economy, subject and object are inextricable. The industry of the 21st century is a network of creation, production and exchange of experiences. What we are seeing, therefore, is not Industry 4.0 trying to digitize 20th century industry but the need to invent the industry of the 21st century. With its Internet+ and Made in China 2025 programs, China aims to transform the workshop of the world into a design studio. In South Korea, the Creative Economy program seeks to develop new markets through the convergence of science, technology and culture. In the US, investments are made in new industrial ecosystems that include local and federal government, businesses and education. Tomorrow s game-changers will not be those with the most automated production systems, but those who build a culture of knowledge and know-how to reveal and train the workforce of the future, able to solve the challenges of a planet lacking sustainable solutions. The sciences of life and matter are at the heart of this change, harmonizing product, nature and life. Biomimicry and biomaterials are set to transform the way we design things. Additive manufacturing makes the imaginary achievable. We must no longer think of industry as a set of means of production but as a process of value creation. The industrial sectors of the 21st century are much less concerned with flows of parts than with flows of usages and of virtual models, in an economy that eliminates friction and optimizes the life cycle using intelligent systems whose data is energy. This century will be a time of high-added-value ecosystems in which the real and the virtual merge, each complementing and amplifying the other to produce goods and experiences. This becomes the very definition of an industry. Amazon is a fullfledged industry player, since it has created a unique consumer experience. The automotive industry no longer just makes cars but imagines new methods of transportation, working through innovative ecosystems that bring together cities, businesses and citizens. With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Singapore has integrated urban development, services, economic performance and healthcare. This new economy of value creation is illustrated through marketplaces that bring together supply and demand, the global and the local. Digital experience platforms are the infrastructures of this industry renaissance. They transform retail, transportation and tourism, and are set to change industry. Within the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace, the largest virtual factory in the world, the model of a product can be posted and printed in 3D where it will be sold. Digital platforms, which combine bookwork with laboratory benchwork, transform learning through virtual experiences. Artificial intelligence will not replace thinking, but it will facilitate access to knowledge and know-how. France must and can believe in an industry of the future. Europe, with its diverse talents and cultures, has considerable assets to build regional and interconnected industrial ecosystems: scientific research, industry leaders, SMB network, interdisciplinary education centers and innovation platforms. Let us gather around an industrial vision faithful to our common humanistic culture, which focuses on man and uses, frugality and sustainable development. Welcome to the industry of the 21st century. Bernard Charlès 6
