Rebuilds, especially the case of PM 11, are always very unique. The biggest advantage of the pilot trials was that we were able to compare and evaluate two solutions with totally different technical concepts and make the right decision. 4 Valmet Paper Technology Center locations Fiber Technology Inkeroinen, Finland Our fiber technology pilot plant, located in Inkeroinen, Finland, provides complete pilot processes for mechanical pulping, recycled fiber, stock preparation and pulp drying. Case: Mondi Neusiedler, Austria Pilot trials for refining with new OptiFiner Pro It was easy to conduct a trial with Valmet. They have skilled experts and facilities where laboratory trials can be comprehensively compared with our actual production conditions in order to justify our investment. The trial parameters employed on-site on our mill s pulp were meticulously duplicated with the existing refiners at our mill giving us a firm baseline for comparison and justification calculations. In addition to standard laboratory tests, the mill relied heavily on the evaluation of fiber morphology through microscopic analysis. Knowing how the fibers develop in refining in addition to the pulp properties was an essential part of the trial.
