ABSTRACT This deliverable provides an outline of the first round of dissemination material produced for the City-HUB project, including material that has been prepared during the first semester of the project s lifecycle. A City-HUB leaflet and poster, as well as a brief presentation of the project, and the first press release that was distributed in December 2012 announcing the beginning of City-HUB, are presented in the following paragraphs. Also, the structured templates that have been developed for a number of dissemination items and that will be used hereafter in the project are cited in the second part of the deliverable. Dissemination material I 5
1 Introduction This document, entitled Dissemination material I, is the third deliverable that has been produced till now in the framework of WP8: Dissemination and Fora. The deliverable provides information on the first round of dissemination material produced for the City-HUB project. It outlines the material that has been prepared during the first semester of the project s lifecycle, including a leaflet, a poster, a presentation, as well as structured templates to be used when developing other dissemination material hereafter in the project, including the 1 st project s newsletter and fact sheets, etc. Following this introductory chapter, the graphic project (constituting a logo and the graphics to be used in the dissemination material of the project identity) is presented in the second chapter of the document. All of the dissemination material, including the project presentation template, the leaflet, and the poster, along with the press release document are listed and described in chapter three, while in chapter four the relevant templates (newsletter and fact sheet) are presented. The extent of the impact of the project, as a result of the dissemination strategy, is described in chapter five, while the next steps and a summary are presented in the final chapter of the document (chapter six). 2 Graphic project identity The City-HUB logo (Figure 1) and additional graphics (Figures 2, 3) were used for the design of the website ( the social media networking accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn), and the dissemination material of the project. Figure 1: City-HUB logo. Figure 2: Graphic No.1. Dissemination material I 6
Figure 3: Graphic No.2. 3 Dissemination material The material that has been designed and developed for the dissemination of the project during the first semester of the project s lifecycle is presented in the following paragraphs. 3.1 Project presentation A brief presentation (Figure 4), outlining the goals and objectives of the project, the work plan, the expected impact, the consortium, and contact details has been prepared in a power point format to be used for the promotion of City-HUB in workshops, meetings, etc. The presentation is uploaded to the project s website, and is available for downloading. Dissemination material I 7
Figure 4: Project presentation. 3.2 Leaflet An electronic leaflet (Figure 5), outlining the objectives and expected impact of the project, and presenting briefly the pilot and validation case studies, has been designed, in order to be used for the public events, e.g. conferences, workshops, etc., where City-HUB partners participate. The leaflet is also available for downloading from the project s website. Dissemination material I 8
Figure 5: Project leaflet. Dissemination material I 9
3.3 Posters Two posters (Figures 6, 7) have been designed to be used for the promotion of the project at events, including the Stakeholders Workshops and the Final Conference, as well as at any other event where members of the City-HUB consortium participate. The posters can be printed in a poster frame 50x70 cm. Figure 6: Project poster_version_1 (landscape). Dissemination material I 10
Figure 7: Project poster_version_2 (portrait). 3.4 Press releases The distribution of press releases at specific milestones of the project is one of the key dissemination actions of the project. The first press release was distributed in December 2012, announcing the beginning of the project, and introducing the highlights of the scientific approach, the objectives and the expected impact of City-HUB to the wider audience. An English version of the first press release is available on the project s website, while each partner translated the press release to their local language and distributed it in local printed and electronic press. Dissemination material I 11
Figure 8: 1 st Press release. Dissemination material I 12
4 Templates 4.1 Newsletters A yearly electronic newsletter (three in total throughout the duration of the project) will be published and distributed. This will provide an update on the project progress, including the midterm and final results. The first newsletter is foreseen to be developed after the first Stakeholder Workshop that will take place in Budapest in March The newsletters will be available for download from the website, and will also be sent by mail to the stakeholders of the project. The template that has been developed is shown in Figure 9. Figure 9: Newsletter template. 4.2 Fact sheets A number of fact sheets will be produced by the project. These will provide an outline of the main findings for each case study investigated (both pilot and validation), as well as addressing specific issues of the project, such as accessibility, soft mode integration, etc. Analytically, the timing and content of the fact sheets that will be produced throughout the project lifecycle, are presented in the dissemination plan of the project (Nathanail et al. 2012).The template that has been developed is shown in Figure 10. Dissemination material I 13

5 Impact monitoring system Assessing the impact of the project in terms of approaching a wider audience and the assessment of the effectiveness or appropriateness of the relevant tools (e.g. website) and material (e.g. poster, leaflet) are part of the dissemination strategy. For this reason, three measurement variables are monitored dynamically throughout the project s lifecycle, thus: Visits to and downloads from the website; Number of participants at project s events; and Number of publications. For the needs of the specific deliverable referring to the dissemination material, data has been collected regarding the distribution of the first press release. The results of the distribution of the first press release are presented in the following table (Table 1): Table 1: Distribution of 1 st press release.
