4 Our Business Units Oil in Water Mirmorax today offeres topside Oil in Water monitoring systems and has a install base of monitors that are in operation and is serviced on a continuous basis. Based on the robust nature of the system and the good feedback of our customers, we are developing a subsea retrievable Oil in Water monitor to enable subsea processing in a controlled manner over lifetime of the field Multiphase Sampling The multiphase sampling technology is developed and tested over the past two years and is based on patented and award winning design. It s the only technology on the market to deliver phase representative volumetric samples from multiphase flow. This gives operator access to data useful for calibration and reservoir simulations. The technology is currently being qualified for both subsea and topside applications p4 Mirmorax AS
5 Subsea Oil in Water Motivation Subsea processing is a growing interest motivated by increased water depths and economics of production in deep and ultradeep waters Certain sizes and concentrations of oil particles or in combination with fine sands has proven to partly or completely clog injection wells Lack of subsea processing control may then lead to clogging of injection wells and hinder produced water to be re-injected Not being able to re-inject the produced water, will eventually lead to reduced or complete shut down of production A robust and accurate subsea oil in water monitor will provide detailed data on size distributions and concentrations and enable full control of processing performance independent of water depth and distance p5
6 Measuring oil-in-water OSPAR performance standard 2007: No individual offshore installation should exceed a performance standard for dispersed oil of 30 mg/l for produced water discharged into the sea Reference method is a modified ISO , GC-FID: OSPAR reference method for the determination of the content of dispersed mineral oil in water by means of gas chromatography Monitoring OiW Online Manual sampling and lab. analysis Online oil-in-water monitors can be used for reporting p6
7 Measurement principle (1) Ultrasonic transducer inside flow. Acoustic energy focused into a small area. All particles in flow reflect/scatter acoustic energy. 8 Technology Core Functionality Sweeps of ultrasound is sent out Buffer of count curves, each containing 5000 measurements. Overall statistics based on 20 minutes cycle, instant measurements short and adjustable. 9 Measurement principle (3) The classified signals (amplitudes) are compared to predictions from the acoustic backscattering model. A mathematical tool is applied to minimize the difference between the measured values and the predicted values. 15 Subsea Multiphase Sampling Motivation Subsea Multiphase Sampling is a growing interest motivated by the need to calibrate multiphase and wet-gas metering systems as well as getting exact high quality samples supporting reservoir simulations The value of metering systems as well as virtual models for describing flow behavior depends on having a reliable source of reference data The reference data will not only give a very high quality PVT analysis, but also a volumetric representative sample for quantifying oil, gas and water fractions. Having access to this data saves huge infrastructure costs for the operator on test lines and will allow metering systems to be used for fiscal applications, increasing the user vale of existing metering systems p15 CONFIDENTIAL Mirmorax AS

21 Operation The multiphase sampling system can be retrieved and replaced This offers the possibilities of either keeping the sampling system installed subsea or moving it around from hub to hub No electrical or hydraulic parts are included in the stationary part, which has dual fail-safe 15 kpsi barriers The system weighs less than 100 kg in water and can be operated by a standard ROV with no extra tooling p21 CONFIDENTIAL Mirmorax AS
22 Operation The sampling bottles can be replaced topside or subsea individually or as part of a cluster In a subsea permanent installation, this makes it possible to replace sampling bottles frequently without disconnecting the sampling system The electronics canister and the hydraulics canister can be replaced subsea or topside, which also enables replacement without retrieving the complete sampling system. 23 Multiphase metering calibration Step 1: Obtain Gas, oil and water (GOV) fractions from sample over minutes timeframe by direct reading (no PVT lab required) (red dot values on plot) Step 2: Use GOV fractions from sample to update GOV parameter file for the MPFM at the specific timeframe the sample was taken (matching the red dot to the MPFM surface curve) The MPFM will now have a good calibration in the proximity of the red dot Step 3: Use the multiphase sample to obtain high quality PVT. The PVT ill ensure a high accuracy level when the meter moves away from the red dot area and adjust the aspect ratio of the MPFM surface curve Step 4 (Optional): Take more samples under different flow rates to verify tat MPFM surface curve give same values as multiphase sample p23 CONFIDENTIAL Mirmorax AS
