2 Mapping of Courses vs s vs TE 211 Textile Yarn Manufacturing Processes understand the mechanism and processes involved in yarn manufacturing evaluate the processes for opening and cleaning of fibers, removal of waste, twisting operation, draft setting, and selection of appropriate machine components and parameters develop the spin plan by using basic production calculations PLO 1 TE 205 Pre-treatment of Textiles 2 Given the fibers such ad cotton, wool, silk, synthetics and their blends, the students will be able to accurately state and explain their corresponding pre-treatment processes, chemicals reactions and mechanisms. Given the different pre-treatment process for fibers, yarn and fabric forms, students will be able to correctly select and explain the working principles of machines and discuss their technical aspects. PLO 2 Given the coloration process and final product, students will be able to correctly analyze the efficiency and effects of different pre-treatment processes establish their inter-relationship. PLO 4 TE 207 Machine Design Students are able to understand and explain the process of engineering design and various considerations for design of mechanical machines. Students are able to design flexible machine elements using appropriate mathematical tools and techniques. Design gear system using appropriate mathematical tools and techniques.

Demonstrate the ability to analyze suitable test procedure or equipment for evaluating the physical and mechanical properties of textile materials i.e. fibre, yarn & fabric.
