Course Content This course will consist of the following units of study: Pottery and Building Materials Ceramic Decorative Process and Alternative Patinas Constructionism and Fiber Art Paper Art Functional Art Non-Functional Art Forms Free-Standing Sculpture Relief Sculpture Experimental Art Forms Art History Sculptors and Sculptures of Western Civilization Course Objectives The student will demonstrate the ability to answer in detail the following essential questions: How can form and function be combined? What functions of ceramic finishing contribute to the decorative process? In what ways do varied media challenge an ist? How can paper be used to create three-dimensional forms? What contributes to the planning of a functional work of?
