Jobs, Growth, Fairness & Democratic Change Day 2- Edinburgh The mindmap shown in figure 6 highlights that a key topic of conversation at this session was the issue of who does social innovation, and in particular, that this could be people working in groups or as individuals, as well as people in all sectors. What was driving social innovation; questions of who decides - similarly to day 1- and points about different ways in which social innovation could take place were also made. 10 IESI e-knowledge-base of mapping, 280 initiatives have been collected as part of the IESI invento initiatives represent all EU28 Member States and some countries that are conside the field under analysis, as well as all the categories of PSSGI. To validate the results of the IESI Mapping and Analysis 2015 and launch the final round of mapping To discuss the theoretical and methodological approach underpinning the framework to assess the social and economic impacts of ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives promoting social investment (i-frame). 3. To assess the preliminary findings of the IESI case study analysis on the role of ICT-enabled social innovation to support the modernisation of the social protection systems in the EU 16

22 Welcoming the IESI Mapping 2016 Aims & Objectives The aim of the new Mapping 2016 is to enrich the IESI Knowledge map for the 3 rd phase of the research with a well-documented additional set of ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives. To extend and further validate the IESI Knowledge Map To map ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives in the areas of the PSSGI long-term unemployment; rehabilitation of older people; others To contribute providing a deeper understanding of how EU Member States can make better use of ICTenabled social innovation to implement the actions suggested in the SIP

23 Building on gaps & Expected results Further data collection is needed in order to balance the sample in terms of geographical coverage including not only in terms of EU28 member states, but also level of deployment, in particular initiatives operating in regional and local administrative areas. A structured database containing an inventory of 200 ICT-enabled social innovation initiatives The full 'documentation' of 100 mapped ICT enabled social innovation initiatives Consolidated analysis of mapped initiatives (IESI Knowledge Map 2016, integrating results from 2014 and 2015)
