On-Campus Degree Options Finish your bachelor s degree at our main campus in West Seattle with one of our partner universities Heritage University/BA or MA in Education; Eastern Washington University/BS in Technology; or City University/BS in Business Administration. Or consider South s own Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Hospitality Management. ABOUT THE ASSOCIATE 'S DEGREE University transfer students can obtain either an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree. Specialized degree options include: AA in Business, Asian Pacific Islander Studies, or Education; as in Engineering/Computer Science, or Biological Sciences/Chemistry. Students should be able to earn a degree in two years when attending full time. Required Areas of Study to Earn an AA or AS Degree Basic Requirements - (Writing and Quantitative) Visual, Literary and Performing Arts - Understanding language, literature, communication and expression. Individuals, Cultures and Societies - Understanding ourselves within our societies, our cultures and as a global neighbor. The Natural World -Physical, natural and life sciences and their relationship to technology and their application. Electives - See a counselor or advisor for a list of elective courses. 2 Get Oriented All newly-registered students receive an orientation packet in the mail, as well as follow up phone calls and offers for campus tours. A welcome reception and resource fair is held at the start of fall quarter. Online orientation is also a great way to get to know South. High School Students Running Start Program - (206) College-ready high school juniors and seniors can enroll in college courses and earn credits toward an associate s degree, on a tuition-free basis. Participants take oncampus classes as part of their high school program and receive dual high school and college credit. TRANSFERRING South has direct transfer agreements with nearly all four-year schools in Washington. Students transferring with an AA degree will be awarded 90 credits toward their 180-credit baccalaureate degree. Become a Leader in the Hospitality Industry The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree in Hospitality Management at South Seattle Community College prepares students who have completed a two-year technical or approved associate s degree for a broad skill set of competencies in the growing hospitality industry. The degree provides students with upper-division discipline classes for the preparation of management, marketing, human resource, and technical positions in all facets of the hospitality industry.
