6 Governance and organisation Renewal of the ESM-Steering Committee: In order to have an active and responsive group of people guiding the activities of the pilot, the SC group was revised after the approval of the action plan, according to the pre-defined: 2 ESM Co-chairs 5 Demo-case representatives (1 vote per demo-case) 6 Regional representatives (1 vote per most involved Regions Basque Country, Lombardy, Norte, Tampere, Flanders, Catalonia) 1 Link with Vanguard Coordination Board (South Netherlands - Brainport) 1 New/interested Region (Baden Wurttemberg) 6

7 Governance and organisation Confirm the governance and the coordination of demo-cases Demo-case coordinators were asked to confirm their commitment in leading the activities required by the action plan. 8 Governance and organisation Formal involvement of new Regions All the Vanguard Regions were invited through a formal message to express their interest in joining the demo-cases and contact demo-case coordinators in order to exchange information on demo-cases. The steering group contributed to the definition of guidelines for the inclusion of new regions. Accordingly, a document has been elaborated with a checklist of actions that should be undertaken to formally and concretely integrate new regions contribution in the already running use-cases. +11 Regions in ESM 8

12 ESM in S3P-Industrial Modernisation ESM is actively involved in the activities related to Thematic Smart Specialisation Platform on Industrial Modernisation and it is one of the members of the steering committee. Two Expression of Interest for Thematic Partnerships to Pilot Interregional Innovation Projects has been submitted by: De and Remanufacturing democase in the framework of Vanguard ESM partnership. Digital&Virtual demo-case in collaboration with Industry4.0 for SMEs partnership. 12

13 S3P-related services PwC Study - REFURBISHMENT OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT Report on promising KETs-based product aimed at providing key market insights for refurbishment of medical equipment and identify key directions for action in order to maintain Europe s competitive position on the global market. Targeted demo-case: De- and Remanufacturing Matchmaking event DE- AND REMANUFACTURING PLENARY MEETING Milan, 5 th May 2017 Watify project supported the demo-case in the organisation of an event aimed at showcase the contents elaborated by the network and promote the cooperation among stakeholders through workshop and matchmaking sessions. Targeted demo-case: De- and Remanufacturing ReConfirm The Regional Cooperation Networks for Industrial Modernisation STRATEGIC WORKSHOP and COLLABORATION LAB 30th November 1 st December 2017 Re-confirm experts support demo-cases in better defining the concept integrating the contributions of new Regions to the existing network. Targeted demo-case: Advanced and sustainable materials and coating Smart and Adaptive assembly and manufacturing

14 Interreg projects supporting VI Partners: 10 Regions co-chair of the 5 Vanguard Pilots The main objective of the S34Growth project is to develop and improve existing regional policy instruments to facilitate interregional collaboration. Ongoing discussion on the definition of interregional instruments to be lunched by the partner Regions with the aim to support the development of VI pilots according to the needs defined in the financing scheme VOUCHER SCHEME FUND OF FUNDS JOINT PROGRAMMING INTERREG B 14

15 Interreg projects supporting VI Partners: 9 Regions involved 5 new to Vanguard The main objective of the S34Growth project is to develop and test a Cluster-governed methodology for transregional cooperation in green manufacturing innovation. The set-up of trans-regional projects of pilot plants for green manufacturing innovation in the MED Regions will be triggered, and an institutional environment supporting trans-national cooperation for such innovation will be established in the MED Regions 15
