1 RESEARCH PROGRAMME MANAGER for the AntiMicrobial Resistance Benchmark The Access to Medicine Foundation is looking for an experienced researcher and manager who will lead the research team in charge of producing the AntiMicrobial Resistance (AMR) Benchmark, the first-ever tracking tool to assess what pharmaceutical companies are doing to address the problem of AMR. Period Remuneration Location 1 year, renewable Commensurate to experience Amsterdam/Haarlem Closing date 31 January 2017 More about the AntiMicrobial Resistance Benchmark The AntiMicrobial Resistance Benchmark (AMR Benchmark) will guide and incentivise the pharmaceutical industry to do more to address the problem of antimicrobial resistance. The Benchmark will measure and assess the efforts of pharmaceutical companies (from research-based companies to generic medicines manufacturers) in several technical areas, including R&D, access, stewardship, and production. The AMR Benchmark follows up on one of the recommendations included in the final report of the Review on AMR: the work of the Access to Medicines Foundation, and its Access to Medicine Index (ATMI), has been effective and widely-influential in shaping how global pharmaceutical companies approach questions of access in low and middle-income settings. We believe that that there would be significant value in establishing an iteration of the ATMI specifically for antibiotics, to allow an objective assessment of progress and achievement against these important goals. Role We are looking for a Research Programme Manager to lead the research team in charge of producing the AMR Benchmark. The main responsibilities include: Being end-responsible for the production of the AMR Benchmark Developing the methodology of the AMR Benchmark through a comprehensive process of multistakeholder dialogue and expert consultation Ensuring an efficient process of data collection and analysis Supervising the research team s work, and ensuring the excellent quality of its outputs Coordinating the work of the ATM Foundation with other initiatives in the AMR field Developing and maintaining the relationship of the Foundation with other stakeholders in the AMR field Presenting the AMR Benchmark at conferences and external events Collaborating efficiently with other staff members, including those in charge of producing the Access to Medicine Index, coordinating the operations of the Foundation and leading the engagement with companies The Research Programme Manager will report to the Executive Director and eventually to the Director of Research. The salary will be commensurate to the experience of the candidate.
