Shaping the Future Locally Background Social changes (demographic change, economic crisis, climate change) leave marks on Germany s communities, cities and regions particularly in rural areas. Wherever there is change, there comes new freedom - which people can fill with creativity and a will to get things done. Citizens are needed who recognize the opportunities for change, develop their own ideas, go down unconventional paths, and perhaps also want to become role models for others. 9

11 International Cultural Exchange Actors of Urban Change Facts Pilot stage 2013 to 2015, 2nd round starts December 2015 A program by the Robert Bosch Stiftung in cooperation with MitOst e.v. Actors: cross-sectoral local teams from the cultural sphere, public administration and the private sector Mission Strengthening cross-sector cooperation and communitydriven commitment for local urban development Professional qualification of the participants in the above-mentioned sectors European-wide networking Initiating structural change through local projects (policy and advocacy) 11

Using multidisciplinary qualitative and quantitative research approaches - explore the conditions for a successful CCI sector, considering business models, resilient strategies and innovative solutions to boost sustainable employment and growth in the sector,. - propose policy-relevant solutions to local governments on how to enable citizen-driven innovation.
