2 Medical Technologies in the EU Med-tech sectors stand amongst the most innovative-prone areas Given EU demographic trends, there are urgent needs for improvements in Med-tech appliances, processes, supply chains and data management MedTech companies need to scale up for improving their products and processes in a very competitive landscape European experiences at regional level demonstrate the need for common and shared initiatives for creating the pre-conditions for enabling companies to strive at the global level

3 MedTech Smart Manufacturing project concept & stakeholders MedTech Smart Manufacturing project aims at creating a virtual network of technologies, skills and capacities Fostering an operational multiregional ecosystem of stakeholders, competencies and facilities supporting the uptake of med-tech value chains at EU levels Partners will mutualise local assets, facilities, competencies and technologies to develop, test, prototype and market med-tech products Regions involved TBC : Piedmont (IT project leader), Aragon (ES), AURA (FR) Clusters carrying out development TBC : BioIndustry Park (Piedmont); ARAHEALTH (Aragon); LyonBiopole (AURA)

4 MedTech Smart Manufacturing co-investments Objective: achieve a relevant, flexible and efficient EU med-tech ecosystem based on Smart Specialisation priorities Capitalise upon regional assets: Regione Piemonte experiences on health care cluster and related R&D initiatives fostering competence centres Develop expertise: partners to share specialised interregional experts MedTech innovation skills and capacities Co-invest for multiplying impacts: by developing interregional vouchers for SME scale-up at EU level
