We have in-depth experience of cross clustering and finding new areas suitable for development. By working across boundaries we create new kinds of collaborations that can lead to exciting cluster opportunities and long-term innovations. Whether we re working locally or internationally, Michael Porter s famous cluster theory forms the basis of our work and helps to identify competitive advantages in each cluster. 5 DISCUSS, DEVELOP AND DELIVER BRG builds bridges and brings people together. Discussions begin, but we neither own the conversation nor the end result. What we do is identify potential, initiate contact and help clusters develop in a positive way. We cover all the gaps between different actors, clusters and the global market. We do this by involving the right people from the following areas: COMPANIES BRG collaborates with companies in the region to identify their needs and offer knowledge and relevant contacts. We initiate projects and identify synergies that can attract investment and appeal to other clusters. SOCIETY BRG provides local, national and international interfaces or platforms linking decision-makers in public organisations with other cluster members. EDUCATION We look to business requirements and work strategically to influence education in the region to ensure that resources will be available to meet future needs. CAPITAL BRG helps companies find investors and investors find interesting projects and opportunities. We arrange matchmaking meetings between companies, investors and business angels and also support venture capital days. RESEARCH The University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology and several other research institutes are active in our cluster initiatives. We also cooperate with universities abroad. GLOBAL BRG works on an international scale, in close relation with sister cities or twin towns across the globe. We receive delegations and make our city s sustainable solutions, such as Green Gothenburg, visible in broader contexts.
