Founded In 1986, Deepwater is a full-service offshore corrosion control company, supplying the energy industry with expertise in cathodic protection and corrosion engineering. To overcome the corrosion problems inherent to a developing energy industry, Deepwater engineers draw from decades of offshore corrosion engineering and design knowledge. We focus on innovative methods to improve existing technology and understanding, in order to deliver the most simple and effective solution for our customers. While the industry continues to greater depths, Deepwater has consistently found new ways to protect, monitor and ultimately extend the productive life of the world s offshore infrastructure. INNOVATIVE For nearly thirty years, Deepwater has developed numerous methods and technologies for controlling corrosion on virtually any type of offshore asset, from platforms and pipelines to FPSOs and wind farms. Here s an overview of what we offer: Cathodic protection (CP) Deepwater has designed and built anode systems for new and existing offshore assets in all environments. Permanent CP monitoring Fixed electrodes and test stations allow tracking of cathodic protection potentials and anode efficiency. CP design and engineering Corrosion consulting services for CP design and evaluation, failure analysis and unique cathodic protection problems. Corrosion inspection and survey NACE-certified offshore corrosion inspection and survey with online inspection reports for our customers. Deepwater also manufactures Polatrak survey instrumentation and software for divers and ROVs.

Some examples of recent projects: 1. Alaska Impressed current CP system for new-build fixed leg structure. 2. California New anode sleds with fixed test points on buried subsea pipeline. 3. Mexico RetroClamps used to attach new anodes to hundreds of kilometres of subsea pipeline. 4. Gulf of Mexico Cathodic protection and permanent monitoring installed on 24 permanent guide bases at depth of 900 metres. 5. Gulf of Mexico Replaced 300 sacrificial anodes with impressed current CP system on large spar structure. 6. Brazil Installed RetroPods and clamps to protect new deep-water flow lines. 7. Gulf of Guinea Installed 20-year lifeextending anode retrofit on methanol pipeline. 8. Irish Sea Installed retractable hanging impressed current system to protect the hull of an offshore storage installation. 9. North Sea Installed interior CP monitoring systems in 74 wind farm monopiles. 10. Red Sea Installed 20-year anode retrofit on large fixed platform in just 20 hours. 11. Thailand Retrofitted anodes to extend the life of two large platforms. 12. South China Sea Bolstered failing anodes on a new 6-leg fixed platform in 200 metres of water with a large ICCP system.

5 Deepwater s retrofit technologies can significantly lower installation times. CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM MANUFACTURING Deepwater cathodic protection systems have proven to be extremely reliable, providing up to 45 years of protection for new structures and life extensions of up to 25 years. For nearly thirty years, Deepwater has developed and built technologies that offer more efficient and affordable alternatives to traditionally-installed anode systems. Our proprietary systems can be modified to suit virtually any asset and environment. We design and build everything inhouse at our 65,000 sq. ft. facility in the heart of Houston s energy corridor. While conventional sacrificial anodes are still viable for some new projects, they are often difficult and expensive to replace when they eventually become depleted. For some new types of equipment located in deep water, installing anodes directly onto the asset is not an option. As offshore operations become more diverse, so do the cathodic protection systems required to protect subsea equipment. Deepwater has more experience designing and manufacturing systems to protect all types of offshore assets than anyone else.

As operations move into deeper water and cathodic protection concerns intensify, a reliable way to monitor anode systems is essential.

6 Deepwater manufactures a range of instruments and readouts that allow operators to monitor cathodic protection levels on any type of asset. POLATRAK MONITORING SYSTEMS Permanent monitoring systems provide a constant, reliable stream of information about corrosion control systems. As operations move into deeper water and cathodic protection concerns intensify, a reliable way to monitor anode systems is essential. Traditional corrosion surveys are costly and time-consuming, especially when problems occur outside of the normal inspection cycle. With permanent monitoring, asset integrity managers can more easily be alerted when an anode system isn t working as planned or when it is time to replace the original anodes. For new equipment, reference electrodes can be placed at critical areas and data can be collected a number of ways. Often, the reference electrodes can be hard-wired to the surface, where monitoring panels or data recorders can display the data. For deep and remote applications, Deepwater has developed a subsea readout called the SunStation, which requires no outside power source or interface with the surface. This new stand-alone technology has allowed monitoring to go into deep-water fields and other previously inaccessible areas. Light from an ROV activates the readouts, and the readings are captured via the camera. The SunStation provides convenient monitoring in deep water fields.

7 RISK-BASED CORROSION INSPECTION SERVICES Deepwater s inspection data is the crucial first step in an effective corrosioncontrol program. Topside inspection Deepwater began conducting platform inspections in 1986, just before the BSEE instituted a Level I inspection requirement. Since that time, we have continually focussed on improving the value of our inspection services. The basic format for most Level I surveys in the Gulf of Mexico was developed by Deepwater, and we are again driving innovation with our risk-based inspection procedures and online reporting delivery database. These tools help operators focus their inspection spending where it s needed most, which ensures staff safety and keeps costs in check. Subsea survey Deepwater is a pioneer of true underwater cathodic-protection surveys, developing techniques that give accurate cathodic protection readings more rapidly. Many older, inefficient survey methods provide meaningless data and waste precious time offshore. Probes and inspection software Deepwater s Polatrak brand of offshore probes provide unparalleled accuracy and durability. They ve been the equipment of choice in the offshore industry for over 20 years by a large number of inspectors, including our competition. Deepwater has also developed software to reduce offshore time and deliver accurate survey reports more quickly. Deepwater has been conducting offshore surveys for almost three decades.
