The general content areas that appear across grade levels in a set of standards become the instructional areas. Instructional areas are further divided into common instructional sub-areas. Content Specialists align items from the NWEA item bank to these standards. The MAP Growth assessments and associated reports for teachers and students are based upon this alignment and grouping of standards.
